★ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -[/blockquote] It was a beautifully sunny afternoon at the Loguetown docks, and the brine soaked breeze blew steadily into the city . Because of beautiful weather and strong winds, many fishing vessels had returned to the docks to re-stock on supplies and merchant boats managed to arrive in port ahead of schedule. Since the atmosphere at the ocean’s edge was lively and morale appeared to be high, Hotaru had made an appearance to see if she could earn some much needed money.
As a black market fence, thief, con artist, and information broker in the lively port city, she was almost guaranteed some work on busy days when a heavy influx of travelers (most of whom dealt in one way or another with the ‘underworld’ of Loguetown) made their way into the city. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, today had so far been extremely slow. She had managed to sell the location of some local pushers for a few hundred berri, however, she spend the loot on snacks earlier in the morning.
The bikini clad woman sat atop a stack of crates just next to the start of pier and watched the hustle and bustle of the docks, waiting for something or someone to catch her attention. Her scarlet mane whipped behind her in the breeze and she let out a sigh of boredom. Her right hand rested lazily on the shaft of her trident and rolled it haphazardly along the rough surface of the large shipping container that she had made her perch for the day.
Since when had sailors all become saints?

It was days like these that Triton loved the most, beautiful weather and busy ports, these two things were often the ingredients for success - in his business anyways! Although being a titan of a man you wouldn't think him to be all that sneaky or agile, but you'd be surprised how easy it was to get away with things in the constant hustle and bustle that was the Loguetown docks - even if he often towered above most people in the crowd! Whether it be money itself, contraband or his favourite (artifacts and works of art) there was money to be made here today, especially since he'd already struck earlier in the day. Not too long ago Triton had managed to get his hands on quite the interesting piece - a small jade sculpture he couldn't exactly make out, but apparently it was a big deal in the country where it was being shipped from. After a small scuffle and a daring escape he'd seemingly got away without trouble, but he knew better than to let his guard down just yet! "Now, where's my favourite girl?" He spoke in a low voice, using his large height to his advantage as he peered over the crowds, blue eyes flicking back and forth looking for any familiar faces. It wasn't until he circled back around towards the shipping docks that he'd at long last find who he'd been looking for, Hotaru Satsuma, infamous Loguetown-based criminal like himself, and most important, Triton's best business partner! He grinned widely, large arm thrown up into the air as he waved, and although he was still a small distance off it usually wasn't hard to spot Triton out. "Oi! Got something for you!" Large strides carried him over to the shipping crates where she'd sat, his size forcing him to look down at her when he'd neared, all the while his right hand dove into his pockets. With a gentle toss he'd send the sculpture twirling towards Hotaru, trusting her expert eye to let him know what it was, how much it was worth, and get an estimate on how expensive it'd be for her to 'move' it for him. She was the only blackmarket contact he liked, and most importantly he could trust her, and who didn't love making money? "You know what it is?"

Just as she began contemplating calling it a day, a loud and familiar voice rang out over the chatter being generated by the inhabitants of Loguetown Harbor.
This should be good.
She thought with a smile as a familiar giant effortlessly traversed the crowded dock with what appeared to be only a few strides. Triton was one of Hotaru’s regular clients, however, unlike most of the criminals she dealt with, Triton had a sense of humor that made him a pleasure to work with. Every time he was in town, he would bring her an artifact he had inexplicably acquired during his travels. Of course, he never knew what exactly he had stumbled upon, but what he lacked in knowledge he made up for in sheer dumb luck. Almost everything he brought to her was worth a small fortune to the right buyer, and Hotaru was more than willing to allow Triton to do the heavy lifting of collecting the treasures so long as she could profit from from his endevours.
“What’da ya got?”
She asked in a friendly tone, catching the small jade statuette casually as if it were a common stone. Turning the artifact in her hands a few times, sharp and experienced eyes darted between every nook and cranny of the artifact. It only took a few a few moments for her to formulate a theory as to just what Triton had gotten his hands on, but she wouldn't explain the finding until she was sure of it’s origins.
“The hell...”
She mused, her eyes beginning to sparkle from the mere prospect of what kind of money they would be pulling in on this hunk of rock.
“Idunno how you do it, Triton, but it seems like you’ve got yourself another winner. What you’ve got here is a ritual totem used in worship ceremonies by a religion based on an island in the calm belt. People on the Red Line pay huge beri for stuff like this to decorate their study, and i’ve even heard a of few marines displaying them as proof they have traversed the most dangerous depths of the ocean. I’ll give ya 55 for her right here, prolly worth somewhere near 70 to the right buyer...which of course you cant find ‘less you stick around here for a few months.”
With her assessment complete, Hotaru tossed the totem back to it’s ‘owner’ so he could think his options over, and while he did, she was already spending the money she knew she would be making off of this transaction.

As his friend looked over the artifact, Triton took the time to take the large anchor off his back, dropping it onto the pavement with a dull THUD, the chains wrapped neatly around the handle as he rested against it. He wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but judging by the amount of resistance he'd faced attaining it, he was sure it was worth a nice chunk of change - who knows, maybe he could get a fancy new weapon? While he mulled over his options he almost didn't hear Hotaru when she spoke, something about rituals and the calm belt, but what he most definitely did pick up on was the price tag she put on it! While it wasn't the biggest take Triton had ever managed, 55 off the bat sounded pretty fantastic. "Really? It's worth that much?" He caught the small sculpture in his free hand, looking it over once more, still not knowing what the hell it was supposed to be. He chuckled lightly, rolling it around in his hand one last time before throwing it once more back to Hotaru, beginning to speak before she'd even have the chance to catch it, "I'll tell you what. . ." He straightened out, right arm lifting the anchor slowly and throwing it over his shoulder, "I'll give it to you for 50 if you keep your ear to the ground about any devil fruit in Loguetown, sound good?" He probably could've had her do him a favour for free, but she was a trusted customer, it didn't hurt to throw them some extra cash now and again - especially since she was getting it off his hands so fast! Besides, if it actually paid off and he got put on the trail of a fruit? Well, let's just say it'd be worth a lot more than the extra 5 to him! "In the mean time, whattya say we go for a walk? Wouldn't want anybody near the docks to recognize us after all!" He spoke as if he was joking, but the two of them knew it was a very real possibility, Triton just failed to mention he may not have lost the pirates he robbed completely, that's all! Besides, the beach was no place for major cash transactions!

With the artifact safely back in her possession, she tucked the jade statuette into the pocket of her denim shorts.
“Devil fruit?”
She said with a confused tone as she hopped down from the stack of crates she had been sitting on. Though Hotaru was a bit taller than average, the red head was dwarfed in comparison to Triton.
“Dont tell me you’re ready to retire that rusty old anchor of yours, Triton!”
She chided. The Loguetown based thief had often made fun of her friend’s strange choice of weapon, and even though she had never seen him fight with it, she figured it must serve him will considering the treasure he was able to haul in.
“Yeah let’s swing by my place so I can pay you for this thing.”
With her spear secured to her back, the pair of old friends began to leave the harbor behind. They would probably grab a bite to eat, drink a bit more than they should, and pick a bar fight later in the night just because they could. That is, unless something or someone stopped them.

"Ayo bitch!" boomed a voice from along the docks.
There was that little shit that managed to steal from Jack Sparrow and the Potter Pirates. Nobody EVER stole from Jack Sparrow and his band of rowdy raiders. Yeah the kid was tall, but so was jack, standing at a whopping nine feet. His heavy figure, long messy dreadlocks and fierce gray beard was enough to make anyone quake in fear, except of course some little punk named Triton.
Jack bounded down the pier at full speed, a dozen boisterous men all wielding weapons in hot pursuit.
"Get him get him get him!!!" Sparrow screamed at the top of his lungs, screeching so loud that his voiced cracked and sounded like a female.
He stood beside a red-headed female, pretty hot, but because she was with the man she had to die too. "You got...four seconds to hand over my stuff boy. One...one...two....hey guys what comes after two?"

"Me? Retire the anchor? You must be crazy!" Although he laughed he was quite serious, he had taken a serious liking to fighting with an anchor, and the only time he'd retire this bad boy is for a newer, even bigger anchor! "You know better than I do how valuable those things are! Besides, wouldn't it be cool if I could breathe fire or something?!" His mind ran wild with the possibilities a fruit could present him, but on the other hand it was always a bit of a gamble eating one of those - who KNEW what you'd end up with! With a smile on his face and a skip in his step off he went, following after his friend, trying not to notice that she was wearing a bikini as he once more adjusted the giant hunk of metal that was his weapon... of course, right up until he heard a familiar voice. It was bad enough to try to muscle Triton as it was, but when somebody called him a bitch on top of it? Well, let's just say that it didn't sit well with the big man, and it was all too obvious with the change in his facial expression. "Excuse me?" Brows were furrowed, face was straight and the anchor had no longer been adjusted, but removed from his back and held in his right hand, arms flexing tightly as proof of the weapons weight. Much to his surprise it turned out he had not only been followed, but in force, that big idiot and a dozen of his goons - and while Triton was no coward, he knew that the crowded pier was no place for this to happen! "Sorry Hotaru, looks like I picked up a bit of heat out there!" As he spoke he began to unravel the chain wrapped around the anchor, and once he had enough slack he'd begin to swing it in small circles, slowly at first but quickly picking up the speed, "I'll let you help if you leave the big one for me. . ."

Turning to face the angry voices that came from behind, she was astonished to see a crew of pirates lead by a 9 foot tall brute of a man.
“I’m not used to being the shortest person in a room...”
Hotaru remarked, noticing just how tall everyone else was in comparison to her. However, just because she was short didn’t mean she couldn’t handle herself in a battle. The spear that was fastened to her back was released from its bindings and was held with the two sharp points aimed at the crowd of pirates.
As Triton began to swing the anchor, the crowds of people began to distance themselves from the impending battleground. Regulars to the port could almost smell a conflict brewing, and in a matter of a few seconds, they were almost the only ones left in that area of the harbor.
Her companion would ‘let’ her help if the captain of the crew that Triton had stolen from was left for him to handle.
“Let me? Please. If i left you alone with them I’d be losing one of my best customers. Still, I cant help but think that it would have been easier if you had handled these goons the first time around.”
Hotaru hadn’t had a good fight in a while, and there might just be some extra money in this if her opponents were carrying anything worth pawning off to some local merchants. Ready for battle, she stood poised and ready to strike down anyone stupid enough to engage her in combat.

In short time Triton and his female companion had begun getting ready for battle. The thief began to swing his massive anchor which didn't intimidate Jack in the least for he too had a bigass weapon.
With the snap of a finger a bulky man ripped from the crowd of pirates, sprinting toward the furious captain with an immense claymore gripped firmly in his hands. Snatching the sword away Jack slung the sword over his shoulders and pointed a finger at the two opposing him.
Immediately the massive of pirates around him flooded toward the two. In total there were twelve: four sword wielders, four with club like weapons, and four with rifles who stayed at his side. The four sword wielders were the first to attack, leading the pack of pirates, behind them were those with blunt weapons, while the riflemen stood close with their guns aimed at the group. Meanwhile captain Sparrow simply stood back and watched the unfolding scene like it was a movie.

Well, they were pretty straightforward about it, huh? The value of the little sculpture sure showed, these guys didn't seem to be joking around, they had cute little formations and everything! Triton was far too reckless to ever be scared of anything, he'd fight them all alone if he had to, but thankfully he had his friend with him, and it wasn't as if this is the first time they had to fight together anyways. With a mischievous grin he'd simply stare down all the approaching men, all the while slowly releasing more and more chain, the length of his swings quickly growing, "Whattya say we take out these ones quickly?" Eyes flicked over to Hotaru, his tone of voice suggesting he didn't take these goons seriously at all, and she probably felt the same, "I wanna go crush that big one already" Triton would suddenly take several steps forward, and then with an almighty swing he would send his anchor soaring towards the approaching sword-wielding henchmen. They were only about 10 meters from him, the steps forward were to just ensure they couldn't jump out of range, but boy did he ever throw that thing hard! With a large swing the anchor would be tossed in their direction, its 5 foot frame giving it all the size necessary to crush somebody, and Triton's strength giving him the ability to throw it hard enough to severely harm, if not kill somebody outright. "Catch!"

As the swordsmen rushed forward, Hotaru saw Triton take a few steps forward and she anticipated his attack. Quick footfalls carried her forward (a few meters left of where the swordsmen were) , keeping a careful eye on exactly where the anchor was so she would be able to avoid her companion’s attack.
As the anchor came into striking distance of the swordsmen, Hotaru quickly ducked to the ground and slid forward a few meters. Allowing the chain to pass over her as it hopefully plowed through the line of sword wielders, she would pick herself up and attempt to close in on the riflemen.
Hopefully the strange weapon and boastful nature of Triton would draw the club wielders to attack him, allowing Hotaru to focus on the gunners. Superior speed would allow her to close the gap extremely quickly, and hopefully the duo could make quick work of the pirate crew that seemed quite intent on getting their treasure back.

Before captain Sparrow had a chance to call his boys back or tell them to move out of the way they'd all get pummeled by the giant anchor of Triton..."giant anchor of Triton"...that sounded pretty cool. Jack watched in amusement as his troupe all hit the ground like bowling pins, all of them writhing around on the ground with broken bones from the massive impact.
Just as they'd get plowed over the second wave of blunt weapon wielders would leap over both the anchor and the dashing woman, not even paying her any attention. With his anchor extended all the way out before him there was no way the towering man could defend himself. They closed in the gap quite easily, each man on a different side of Triton, but in unison they'd all lash out at the skyscraper of a man.
As for the woman. As all of the chaos was going on the riflemen had never once stopped watching her. As she ducked under the anchor and past the fallen swordsman each rifleman let out a single bullet, all aimed at the sprinting womans form. Two were aimed at her legs, two at her upper body. With any luck she'd get hit and captain Sparrow would have a hostage.

So far so planned, the large anchor had been tossed and crashed into the swordsman with sickening efficiency. Their bones broke, the sharpened edges of the anchor opened up cuts, and just generally battered them to the point that they likely weren't going to continue fighting. But did they think it was going to be as easy as jumping over the anchor? Triton was far too crafty for that, in fact it played directly into his hand, but I suppose they couldn't have known that!
"Hey hey, not so fast!"
With a flexing of his arms and a powerful tug on the chain, the anchor would snap back violently, his great strength allowing him the ability to pull it back quite fast. Seeing as they jumped over it, they would still be airborne and thus quite vulnerable to the sudden force of the anchor. With the two sharp, hooked edges, at least a couple of the men would find themselves being impaled unless they could find a way to dodge it, unlikely as that was. As for anybody that missed the edges, they'd likely find themselves hooked by the anchor, being pulled quickly towards Triton, the weight of the anchor hopefully preventing them from moving around too quickly!
"I said catch didn't I?"

Keeping a close eye on their trigger arms, she waited until they would fire to try and evade. Their muscles tensed as they took aim, prompting Hotaru to bring her spear in front of her. At the same time that a resounding ‘crack’ rang out over the docks, Hotaru’s weapon found the ground and she suddenly vaulted high into the air over the bullets fired at where she was just a moment earlier. With the gunners all out of ammo, they were easy targets.
From the apex of her leap into the air, Hotaru hurled the spear into one of men’s chests. The powerful attack, which only traveled 5 meters to reach it’s target, would send a blast of air large enough to hit the rest of the riflemen and knock them off balance, giving her time to close the gap, collect her weapon and finish off the riflemen. Hopefully the giant pirate captain was busy watching her companion fight with an anchor and would let Hotaru take out the remaining gunners as quickly as possible.

Jack could feel the situation begin to intensify as he ealized the severity of the power the power Triton held, but in his own right all the young man managed to do was whoop up on some lackies.
The second wave of pirates, the blunt weapon users, has all been defeated by the bigass anchor. Who the hell used an anchor as a weapon anyway?! As all of that commotion was going on the red head had knocked down the riflemen standing around Sparrow, but he had shielded himself using the massive claymore to keep the wind from buffeting him. As the female landed the giant beast of a pirate would slam his sword vertically in an attempt to chop her in two. She was finished.
