"Damn Pirates... can they keep out of trouble when I am on break? ...Oh well." Disappointed I walked back towards the docks of Illusia.
At the docks there wasn't many people around, because it was now early in the morning. Many ships were in port, So many tasty options... Which one should I take?, I thought. I had need of a ship and since paying a ferryman was too much on my salary I decided it would be better to take a ship, and return it latter. I wasn't particularly proud of stealing a ship but it was out of necessity.
Walking on to what looked like a large merchant ship, I looked around for a smaller vessel which I could use to escort myself. After a few minutes of searching I found that the ship has many smaller ships which were big enough for three people. Good enough for me. Slowly lowering the small ship into the sea I jumped down onto it once it was in the water.
Rowing the ship away from the shore I diverted the eyes of anyone who was around by using the cover of the darkness of Illusia. Easiest place to steal anything I believe... Once I was far away from the shore I released the sail, and to my astonishment it had a Jolly Rodger on it. "Oh hell no... Did I just steal a Pirate ship?" Hopefully they wouldn't notice... I hope. Constantly in motion, the waves crashing about, the unknown, for a person like me I envied the sea. It didn't have anything to worry about, has no family to worry about, no troubles of the world, but all depended on it. I wanted to be important, indispensable, someone of worth, someone everyone around me counted on. That was one reason I chose to be a navigator, I wanted to be able to help out the best way I could. I wasn't physically strong and I wasn't fast, I couldn't handle a sword to save my life, but I had my mind. Even if I couldn't raise hell in the front lines I would assist from behind the scenes, I will still be important.
Why were such thought's going through my head I wondered. Maybe it was because I was alone, with only my mind as companionship. I looked at my compass and I was still on track, still heading the right way. Wonder what my crew mates will be like... Hopefully not too strict... My training officer was hitting me with the rules every time I even tried to do something... Wonder how she is doing.
As the winds picked up I covered myself with my black officer coat. I was heading towards a storm it seemed. Pulling back and restraining the sails I began to row in attempts to get out of the storm. Waves crashed and lightning fell, but I continued on, pushing through the storm. The storm lasted for hours, I was tiered and beaten. It wasn't pirates who you had to fear while at sea, it was nature. Finally giving up I fell, fatigued I lay there, motionless within the storm. "Heh... wonder if anyone else out there is facing this hell? They're probably facing worst... I want to see those seas, face their storms... Travel the entire world."
Time passed and the storm seemed to have calmed. I was asleep leaving the ship to wander by itself. Probably wasn't the best decision, but I was tiered. And it wasn't like the ship will go off track that badly. Or will it? This isn't where I am suppose to be... I should be around the island of Baterilla right now. Confused I looked around the boat for my navigational equipment, but found none. They must have been washed away by a passing wave during the storm. Being in unfamiliar waters I looked around for any sign as to where he was. But there was no island or significant sign in sight.
Frustrated I punched the bottom of the ship, hurting my hand. Holding my hand I kicked the boat's side and injured my foot also. Pissed off and injured I hopped around, falling over and off of the ship. Being a very good swimmer though I swam back up and pulled myself back on to the boat.
Looking up towards the sky I cursed at my situation and my inability to help myself. I released the sail and laid back down to relax. "No point in getting angry at myself... Might as well continue forward... Wherever that may be." Now no longer knowing where he will go he follows his nose and intuition, believing he will be fine. Hidden under the blue hued sea of west blue, the silhouette of a large creature of some sort could be seen. Those without the ability of keen eyesight could see it from afar, thus even allowing the man known as Axel to do the same. The movement of the massive shadow was slow yet graceful, and before the boat could even get far enough -- the beast emerged. A creature roughly weighing four tons with green scales showed its ugly head to the marine, eyes full of rage, for the rowing of the boat woke up the beast and now the marine would suffer. options:a) attempt to escape b) take on this beast and gain a reward c) just die like a failure [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"No man... must just be my imagination... I'm sure I didn't see that..." Doubt crept into his mind. "But... Just in case..." Taking out my pistols I watched the silhouette as it approached.
I noticed that the shadow had started to becoming bigger. Shocked I readied myself for what was to come. "I knew this was going to be a bad day." Suddenly a creature arose from the water, it's green scales an intimidating figure had shaken me to my very core. "Definitely a bad day..."
As the creature approached I knew I only had one choice, to try and subdue the creature or at the very least force it to leave. I analyzed the creature closely, in an attempt to follow the creatures actions. Picking up a crate of gun powder in my left hand I awaited until the creature was within range. "I won't die today... And if this goes well you won't have to either."
When the creature was within 10 meters in range I threw the crate in front of the creature's face. Using my other hand I fired one of my pistols at the crate, resulting in its contents of the crate to cover the creature's face, in an attempt to blind it.. "I didn't want to do this... I'm sorry. Just survival right... Please don't hate me." As the creature was in range I aimed my pistols at the creature's mouth. Using the rapid fire modification on my pistols I unloaded the entire contents of my pistols towards the creature's face and mouth.
Smoke rising from the barrels of my pistols, I looked up towards the creature. Not knowing whether it was going to retaliate I readied myself in preparation for what may come. Addressing the creature I called out, "Cmon big boy, please just leave..."

The serpentine creature let out a roar as the contents of the box blinded it. Thrashing about violently as the ocean rippled around it, which would have been barely effective to any normal sized water vessel, but the smaller boat would definitely have it's problems staying aloft. In the fray several of the fourteen shots would actually hit the target, though only grazing the beast as it let out a second, blood curling roar before charging head on towards the marine. They had actually agitated the creature more than actually causing damage. The creature raged and roared, causing the sea around me and the creature to move violently. Knowing that this ship wouldn't be able to handle this for very long I knew I had to end this quickly.
The enraged sea creature gave out a blood curling roar and had begun to charge at me. Using my Insight I had seen that the creature was about to attack me but because of it had been blinded earlier I believed it's aiming would be off. Not wanting to take the chance I had come to a final decision. To defeat or scare the creature off at the cost of the boat. I knew it was risky but I didn't believe the vessel would be able to withstand the currents of the ocean much longer. Plugging a case of gunpowder with a cloth I lighted the cloth aflame. This better work.
Just as the creature was about to strike the vessel and me I jumped off from the ship at the last minute, letting the beast destroy the vessel. But as it had struck the vessel the case of gunpowder had ignited, exploding in front of the creature. The explosion chained with the remained cases of gunpowder causing at least three explosions.
I had hoped for something grander, I didn't believe this was enough to defeat the beast. But I had sacrificed my vessel, I hoped my sacrifice hadn't been in vain. Falling into the cold violent ocean I wished that I somehow had somehow defeated the beast.

The explosion barely singed the beast as it whipped it's head back, stumped by a bout of confusion. It had just demolished the boat, and then there were fire works. The stupor was only momentary, and then it would spot the pirate, now devoid of any escape vessel. It would release a predatory growl as it loomed over head, only that more pissed after the last stunt, and then in a flurry of movement whip it's tail around to hit the pirate. As it moved towards me I felt that there was little hope that I would survive. But I will... somehow, I kept thinking positively, even though my will wasn't strong I had to pull through. I have too...
As the creature whiped it's tail towards me I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid its attack. But I wouldn't be able to withstand its full force. Moving as fast as I could I swam away from the creatures attack, only to have my arm hit by its tail, causing me to fall deeper into the ocean. I could've sworn my arm was broken, it hurt like hell. Forcing grabbed hold of the creature's body with my good arm, climbing it until I reached the surface.
Gasping for air once I had returned to the surface I looked at the creature and shouted, "Okay Punk... you broke my arm... now I'll gouge your eyes!" Pissed off and riled up I stood on the creature's back. Running up its spine I reloaded one of my pistols and jumped on the top of his head. Aiming with my only good arm I unloaded the pistol's ammunition entirely towards the creature's left eye, in an attempt to kill the creature. "Why don't you sink back into the hole you came from... and die."

Bracing myself I held on as tight as I could to the creature's head, not wanting to be shaken off. The creature had however begun to dive towards the sea. Before the creature dived completely I used the modification abilities of my pistol to shoot the remaining rounds into the side of the creature's head at a rapid fast pace. However because I held on to the creature when it had dived into the water I had been hurt by the impact of the water. Recoiling my arm from the creature I swam as best I could to the water's surface.

the beast used whirlpool!
Considering the beast dove into the water long before the marine would have had a chance to scale the beast he would never get the chance to supposedly 'head shot' it. So henceforth, the beast didn't falter for a moment under water, whipping around in a circular motion creating a strong cylindrical current that would most likely whip around the capsized being, tugging him into the whirl. Which could leave him dizzy and disoriented, possibly sick, and if unfortunate he might gasp for air that isn't there. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The remains of the ship which I was lying on was drawn into the current, which had now become a whirlpool. Me and the remains of the ship were drawn into the whirlpool. Before I had become fully submerged I took a deep breath, in hopes I could somehow return to the ocean's surface.
Dizzy, confused and running out of breath I was drawn further into the ocean. Seeing the beast in underwater was more frightening than it had been earlier. But with my life on the line I resorted to the only way I could possibly get out of the situation. I need to stop this creature somehow.
Concentrating I swam towards the creature having no way to escape. Once on top of the beast I held on to its side. Running out of breath and time I resorted to shoot the side of the creature at point blank range, to at least injure it enough for it to stop the flow of the current.
Exhausted I let go of the creature, wishing to reach the surface and at least survive this ordeal. [/style] | [cs=3][style=font-family: bradley hand itc; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; border: 0px; color: black;]Template by Shika of OTE[/style] |

the beast used maternal instincts!
The bullets would be infective, in fact, they wouldn't even fire, as guns and water were poorly compatible with each other, leaving the marine with little more than a blunt instrument. And the beast with well, a rather defenseless foe. And as he foolishly drew close the beast was more than please of oblige and wind it's menacing forms around him, slowing enclosing it's scaly frame around the male. But the process would never be complete, as the beast drew back it's head in a swift tug, eyes wide in panic. It might not have been heard on a human level, but the beasts babies had seemed to be awake, and crying, possibly in danger. The beast didn't miss a beat, it's children were far above some meat sack, and it raced away just like that, leaving the male battered and bruised, but in the jest of things, still alive. Out of desperation I wished for the impossible, only to be beaten down by reality and this sea creature. Without an ounce on energy left to retaliate I waited for the creature to deliver the killing stroke. Before it had crushed me it had left me, alone in the water. Not even worth killing you say... I guess I don't blame you.
I never thought for one instant that I would be reduced to such a mess, this was the greatest defeat I had ever suffered. One which has me knocking on heaven's door. I don't know whether or not I am hallucinating or not but there was a great beam of light shinning down on me. Its warmth and brightness surpassed that of the sun itself, I guess this is what death is meant to feel like... Much more pleasant than I first believed. Fatigue had taken hold of my body as I floated towards the surface of the ocean. Before reaching the surface my eyes had closed, unable to remain conscious any longer.
*****
"Hey man... You alive in there? Damn... look at this guy, he's a mess. Must've had his ship break on him or something... What do you mean? He's an Officer? Damn, must've been a hell of a storm to take a guy like this out... Wonder what happened to him... Hey man, looks like he's about to wake up, about damn time too." An unfamiliar voice, wonder who he is. Where am I... and why do I have bandages over my eyes. Sitting up I removed the bandages over my eyes and looked around finding myself in the presence of many Marines.
"The hell... how did I end up in here?" Noticing my confusion the group tried their hardest to to tell me what had happened. It seems that they were traveling when they had come across my body which was floating in the water. They had dragged me out of the water onto this vessel and have been attending to my wounds since. It seems that I had been unconscious for three days, and that my arm which was broken was now in a sling.
The ship was going to be arriving in an island in the South Blue in a few hours. I used that time to repair any damage to my equipment, which was difficult with only one good arm. With the coast in the horizon I prepared to leave the ship, hoping that I will never suffer the same experience again. But also hoping to find that sea creature and find out why it had showed mercy at the last minute.
The marine vessel had finally made port in Baterilla, a resort island located in the South Blue. Here is where my real adventure will begin. [/style] | [cs=3][style=font-family: bradley hand itc; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; border: 0px; color: black;]Template by Shika of OTE[/style] |
