Victor did admit that Marik had a point as some officials are just too uptight at times to allow one such as himself to work as he wishes upon a body. Some nonsense of morals and what not even though the Marines have done rather twisted things in the past, he just sighed at this before he then said "Yes yes I know the drill we must put on the appearance of being a morally just organization, lest the population learn of just how twisted and immoral the Marines really are at some levels. Rather idiotic if you ask me but PR is something the World Government likes to keep positive when it serves their needs I suppose...."
Victor obviously was not at all bothered about voicing his thoughts about the Marines and the World Government, he then listened to what Marik said about freedom, ulterior motives, and so forth but to that the Doctor just waved it off like one would shoo an annoying fly. His response was as such "Freedom for all is fine and good to talk about Marik but the truth of the matter is this, if you leave humans or any sufficiently intelligent creature to its own devices and not have natural or artificial limitations, be they physical or not. They tend to get rather rowdy and rambunctious....to be rather frank even when I was a full human I always thought this about our kind...We are rather insane little flesh bags who do not play well with others unless it benefits us. You can bring up all the good people that live and I'll admit there are a few.....but in general humans and the other races can be demonic at times."
He took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing "But regardless I believe there needs to be equal parts Freedom and Order, enough order to ensure chaos does not reign supreme but with enough freedom to allow change and evolution to still occur....Though lets focus on something else as this topic is just asking for a debate to break out....You said you have ulterior motives for being a Marine, well so do I though mine I do not mind voicing. I am simply in the marines as it suits me and makes my work many times easier, so to be frank as long as your motive does not cause me any unneeded grief you can do what ever you damn well please." If there is one thing Victor did have was his ability to not give a damn what another did for the most part, as long as it didn't give him trouble or produce insane amounts of Chaos to deal with he didn't care what a person did with their life.
The Doctor returned to his seat now and let himself just absorb what Marik wished to say only to chuckle a bit with his odd laugh, he then made the sound of clearing his throat before he said "The rules are if I remember as such...Law or Death, no mercy, no prisoners, no weakness, and no middle-ground. A slight bit ruthless and restrictive but oh well, there is little to be done and I am fine enough with dealing with the issues as they come. Trying to predict just how the higher ups will act is impossible at times, organic thinking is down right illogical to be honest..."
