Sunlight peered through the cabin's window, hitting the teen in the eye. There was only one cabin on the ship, which was quite odd since they found two people manning the ship. He supposed that meant that one person slept while the others manned the boat? Either way, the cabin itself was well kept and very clean, even for their upper class status. The half-dressed youth began to stir, finally lifting his head to look out of the small window. Nothing but water in every direction, they were definitely at sea now.
Stretching his arms out as he sat up, the blond kept enjoying the view of the ocean. However, he knew he had to get up and check on the ship. Not like it mattered, his navigational skills were pretty shitty compared to Becky's. Granted, he wasn't totally incompetent as he knew how to work the helm, but as far as knowing where they were going he was pretty dumbfounded.
No shirt, no shoes, no pants. That's how Max always slept so now was no different, despite the fact that he was sharing his living quarters with Becky. But he still had his boxers on, if that counted for something...which it might have. However, Becky was little bit more...free spirited than himself.
It had already been a few days since they had set sail from Loguetown and made their escape to sea. In that short amount of time it seemed that the two had become a bit closer or at the very least more open with each other. But there was always a level of openness that Max wouldn't try to get to, of course.
"Wake up, we have to check our bearings." He would say, his tone void of any kind of superficial affection.

Becky hadn't slept much during the night. Rather than sleeping, she had taken to reading a few books concerning navigation. After all, if she was going to be acting as Max's navigator for now, she knew she'd better learn a thing or two. It had been pretty convenient that the previous owners of this boat had kept some books on how to go about navigating upon the ship. And Becky, of course, was a quick study. She had learned a lot in the past few days.
However, everything she had learned wasn't solely about navigation. She and Max had done quite a bit of exploring within this bedroom as well. So much so that Becky didn't even really feel uncomfortable sitting in bed with him, as she was now, with no clothes on. She sat, her legs folded over each other and the navigational book in her lap.
The two of them were now heading to the North Blue. Why? Becky didn't really know. She didn't really care either. As far as she knew, they didn't really have much of an agenda, did they?
"I'm already awake... and I know where we are. We're heading for North Blue," Becky said calmly. She closed the book and set it to the side. She looked at Maximus curiously and then smiled.
"No worries."

Stretching his muscles before standing up, the self-proclaimed "Pirate Prince" started to make his way to the stairs that led above deck right before Becky spoke, stopping his tracks to turn around her. Listening closely, the blond's eyes were fixated on her lips as she spoke. Despite being more comfortable with this living situation.
"It's going to get cold then." The pirate said rather stoically, turning around fully so he was facing her completely. "I don't have a heavy jacket, so we'll have to stay down here the majority of the time to stay warm."
A thought crossed the youth's mind as he peered into the green laden eyes of his female companion. Normally, he wouldn't have had the audacity to ask, but for some reason he was compelled beyond all reason to do just that.
"What do you think of me? As a pirate?" Ever since he had seen her face that day when he killed that pirate and then the fisherman, he wondered what her thoughts were about him.
Those two cyan orbs called his eyes seemed to peer on endlessly at Becky, almost as if he were staring into her soul.

Becky's eyes met Max's as he prepared to ask her what appeared to be a very serious question. How was she to answer something like that? What did she think of him as a pirate? It wasn't something that she had really thought about much. She closed the book that was on her lap and set it to the side delicately. How would she answer such a question?... when in reality, the answer meant nothing to her.
"I'm sorry Max, but I don't see you as a pirate," she answered honestly. She knew how much it meant to him to be a pirate, and she knew how great of a pirate he hoped to become. He wanted to be recognized by everyone everywhere. But getting Becky to recognize him as a pirate was unlikely. She wasn't sure that she could ever see him as more than her friend, her nakama. After all, that was why she had decided to go on this pirate journey with him. It was because she wanted to be with him, not because she thought the pirate life seemed remotely glamorous.
"To me, you are and will always be the cutest boy I know. You'll always be that sensitive, sweet, and slightly over-protective friend of mine. To me, you are the boy I would follow blindly to the end of the Earth," she smiled to him. What she said sounded silly, but these words were actually rehearsed. They were words she had recited to herself time and time again in her sleep. She dreamed about Max. She dreamed about what he meant to her. She dreamed about the two of them lying together. Sleeping together. Having children together. But in all actuality, no where in her dreams was she a pirate.
"So other people may see you as a cruel, strong, looting pirate. But no matter what happens, I'll always see you as my best friend and my soulmate."

"Somethings are more important than being a pirate, I suppose. I'd rather be that in your eyes than anything else. I don't know why, but that reassures me." There was a feeling that ran through his core, but he couldn't quite pinpoint what that was. It was something new to him completely, yet this wasn't the first time he had felt it. Back in Loguetown was the first time it had struck him, knocking him over as if he got bulldozed.
"I don't know about sensitive or sweet though." A slight smirk would slide across his face, marking the fact that he was enjoying this conversation greatly. It seemed that ever since they met up, things were so much easier to withstand. It felt like with her, he could really achieve something as a pirate.
Blushing slightly, he swaggered back to the bed, smiling the whole time. Honestly, their headings didn't really matter much to him. Wherever the waves took them was just fine with him. He'd face any problem head on with her as his navigator. If not a literal navigator, a moral navigator of sorts.
Max then went to Becky, leaning down to kiss her on the lips. Usually he didn't initiate such actions, but this felt right to him. "You talk too much.." The blond would say coolly as his lips inched closer to hers before attempting to dominate her lips with his.

Becky was certainly glad that she hadn't upset him with her words. She was attempting to say it delicately, while being honest all the same. She knew that being a pirate meant so much to him and she didn't want to risk upsetting him. But it seemed that she hadn't done so. In fact, by opening herself up to intimacy, she had somehow made Maximus feel as though he could open up as well.
For in only moments, he was climbing up, and their lips met. His soft lips pressed against hers and she leaned into the kiss. The affection he showed for her made her feel that coming on this journey with him was truly worth it, though all the same, even now she couldn't help other than to worry about her father. She knew that he was certainly at home worried about her. He always would be.
Becky raised her hands from resting on her lap and held them around his shoulders. All the while, she gently pulled him in toward her and uncrossed her legs so that she was now sitting up with her legs on either side of Max. She pulled him down, gently on top of her, thus smothering herself in his love.
