Inhale, Exhale. Steps forward. Crunchy of the grass, the smell of the air. This was something new. Paradise, trees and open fields, weather that was warm but not sweltering. Home was a long way away, he thought. He looked up and saw birds flying over head. He closed his eyes and fell backwards, feet remaining in air and then falling with a thud.
Turning over on his side he reached out for his bag. With nowhere to go and nothing to do all that was left was to read. He fished around for chunky leather bound book labeled "Heroes of History" he has had it since he started to learn how to smith. It meant a lot to him, he loved reading about the legends. Unfortunately he still hasn't been able to finish reading it. He is literate enough, but he just can't help but to stop for weeks at a time to imagine the lives of these warriors, often reading further into them before moving on the next one.
Currently he was reading about giants. Massive warriors with an even bigger lore. What it would be like to be that big he often wondered. You would need frying pans larger than a ship to make a breakfast that could fill you. He laughed to himself at the thought of eating a ship size pancake.
"I wonder where I should go from here..." he said with a little bit of grain at the thought of having to leave this miracle island.

The sun was shining brightly on my usually cold exterior. This place is much different from my home at Thriller Bark. It's tall palm trees were somewhat reminiscent to the large buildings that were propped up all around the town. The sand however was completely different that cobblestone streets which criss-crossed the crowded city. I placed my hands up over my forehead to cover my face from the sun. Pale people should not be subject to these kinds of conditions. I guess it would be accurate to say that I brought this on myself, being a pirate and all. Walking quickly and searching around for some shade, I trampled through the grass and found a young kid sitting on the beach by himself with a book in his hand. I need to get out of this sunlight or I am going to burn, I said to myself quietly as I walked closer to him. I stood about seven feet from the boy who was all sprawled out on the grass. His back to me. I looked up and saw a seagull flying over head. I am envious. I wish I could fly, but I will suffice with getting off this brightly lite island. Hey kid, I said with a fierce look. You got anything that will get me out of this sun, an umbrella or something.
Hearing splashing over in the distance, I noticed a couple playing near the water. Oh great...... Happiness.

"Hey kid"
The sound shook him from the gripping tale. He was learning about a giant so big he would wrestle sea kings. Garen was pretty sure that this story my have stretched some of the truth but still it was a good read. He was able to not gasp, just a little shake when he realized where he was. He looked back to see someone stand a few feet from him.
"You got anything that will get me out of this sun, an umbrella or something."
Garen noticed the man was as pale as a ghost, he couldn't help but give a small laugh. He turned back over on his side to dig through his bag. After a little searching his sighed. He pulled out a long blue cloth and stood up.
"I am sorry stranger all I have is my headscarf. My people wear this to protect their heads in conditions three times hotter than this." he said with a small bow and offered it to him.
After doing so, Garen exits.

Laughter. How rude. I though to myself swiping the navy blue cloth from his hands. I am one of the most dreaded pirates in all the land and he is going to laugh at me. I tied the navy blue scarf quickly around my head. Mindful of my inexperience with the cloth, I constantly has to push the tail end of the cloth back because it was covering my eyes. This will have to do. I said walking towards where the ocean meet the sand. I looked at my own reflection, my marble visage was in such contrast from the blue scarf. Well not everything can be a work of fashion. My train of thought was broken by the couple down by the beach, frolicking in the water.
