The figure was of a medium built frame. Clearly a male from the skeletal structure, and clearly an nineteen year old. But even in his youth the boy's endured hardships could be seen. His skin, tanned a permanent medium brown, was littered with insignificant scars. It was toughened both from the constant tropical heat of his island, and the punishment suffered on a regular basis. A fresh blanket of murky white fog was rolling in off the sea and onto the craggy rocks nearby. He was not out to enjoy the beach. He had work to do, if he was going to dominate the world; he would have to act soon. The boy straightened his form, pressing his heels together, and took one last look at the busy city that stretched out from the shore not a dozen feet away. Fifty feet beyond the city he could see the tops of luscious trees. Aside from the splashing water to his backside, there was little to be seen around him. And soon, there would be even less. Drake lazily lifted his shoulder and flexed his elbow. His wrist was the last joint to straighten as he finished striking his arm completely vertical. All but his index and middle fingers were curled in that left hand. Meanwhile, his right hand was making a matching hand motion as he brought it to just before his solar plexus. His right elbow was completely bent in the process. In that form, his back and arms were both tight, leaving his blank tank top motionless. The man's pants were considerably more lax. The satin material was styled in a baggy nature to ensure flexibility and comfort during any situation. The boy considered what he must have looked like at that moment; an nineteen year old in all black clothes, with a black tattoo that crept out of his shirt, and most strikingly, the yoga position that he was in; with his two hands together like a Buddhist monk. [MORGAN BLACK]

Indeed, Drake did look a little weird in his pose, on a beach with no one around. Well, that wasn't true. There was one person on the beach at this time. Gunshots could be heard down the beach a ways, as two flintlock pistols fired, the sound of the bang and the smell of gunpowder equally filling the air.

A tall slim toned man with white hair and red eyes stood 25 meters away from a large wooden target with a painted white and red ringed bullseye in the middle.

The man wore tight black leather pants with a white stripe going down the front of both legs. He had many chains, buckles, and a belt littering his pants, as well as two large gun holsters that were attached to the buckles and belt along the back of his legs.

What the man wore for a shirt was more like a jacket. Opened in the front down to his belly button almost to show off his chest. He also were black skin tight fingerless gloves.

The man was obviously target practicing. The two shots Drake would hear would have hit on the outer edge of the very center bullseye. It only took moments for the guns to be reloaded and another 2 shots rang out.

This time, the two shots were spot on, and so close to each other, half of one hole was in the other. Morgan was obviously an experienced marksman, and knew how to handle his weapons. He was calm, collected, cool, and would seem friendly for the time being if approached.

It was there that the clashing of water against the rocks, a life and death battle could be heard violently clashing with one another. To the untrained eye it looked like Drake was merely meditating, however this wasn’t true. He was not in a trance at all; his eyes were merely closed as the sun beat on them furiously with its bright beams. The sound of furious waves cascading in his ears much like a rushing waterfall. Fifteen minutes passed by with Drake sitting in a meditating stance. Out of nowhere two continuous pops that sounded like gun shots could be heard. He propped open an eyelid and cast around for the perpetrator that had made such things happen on his “alone time”. Locking his eyesight onto a man with white hair and red eyes not too far away. The black clothed young man slowly worked his way into a standing position; removing the grains of sand that had somehow found themselves on top of the man’s clothing. Drake ran a hand through his crow colored hair, sighing lightly as he did so, so that he didn’t make much noise. He bent down and picked up the straw flip flops that had been lying next to him, without warning he threw them down onto the ground and a cloud of beach dust shrouded the footwear. Cursing his stupidity, he stepped forward; hooking his feet into the pieces of straw. It was at this point that he began walking over to the man with lightly colored hair, noticing there was a wooden target for marksmanship as he did so. “Arara. Hello there, may I ask why you’re doing such things on a quiet beach?” The red eyed monster tried to speak politely as he neared the foreign man, but to no avail there was a hint of anger beneath his mask. Two more gunshots wrung out into the calm beach air right before the man would address Morgan. Morgan could smell him coming, so it was no real surprise to him when he spoke. The hint of anger ever present to Morgan, though he would not react to it at this time.

He would go to the act of reloading his guns before putting both of them into their holsters. On one holster, a name was etched in the side that read Helter, on the other the name Skelter. Obviously the man had a name for his pistols. The man would finally turn and face Drake, giving him a small but sincere smile, and respond to his question.

"For the exact reason that the beach is quiet like you said. It allows me to focus and truly aim without distractions from curious people, or people that freak out thinking someone is being shot.

Drake could probably understand what he meant. It was indeed peaceful and quiet. However, the smell of gunpowder, and the fog, would soon be met with another white smokey substance that smelled stronger. Before Morgan continued on, he pulled from his pockets a pack of cigars and a pocket lighter, silver with an emerald in the middle.

He took a vanilla one, and placed it between his lips and lit the fine luxury before taking a large drag then exhaling outwards. The smell of vanilla would fill both of their lungs, adding to the already persistent ocean smell. Morgan would then, out of gracious intent, offer one to the man before him if he smoked.

"I hope I did not disturb you. I simply seek to improve this day. You're welcome to join me if you wish. Perhaps in a friendly competition of target shooting?"

Morgan was genuinely curious as to see if the man would accept. Even though he was friendly for now, the pirate side of him wanting to compete for everything was still there.

The smell of gunpowder littered around the man. The dark haired boy had spoken with confidence and watched as the lightly crowned man holstered his guns. Leaning to the side he would see the words Helter and Skelter etched onto the holsters in thick stencil like letters. He gaffed and hid the fit of laughter with his hand. “Indeed. It was cause many suspicions inland if you were to go about shooting like a mad man. Unless of course you happened to be a pirate, but of course a man such as yourself could not possible be one.” Drake shot the man a calculating yet interested look as he spoke his last sentence, and yes, if one were too look under his words they would find a deeper meaning to them. It really did matter to him if the man standing before him was a pirate or a bounty hunter; for if he was the latter he would have probably taken him out as soon as he spoke such words. The young crow crowned boy dug his hands into his pockets and then he suddenly took them out and with them came a wrapped package. Unraveling the hand wrap tap he began to wrap his hands, doing so in a delicate order. He did this every day after he was done with listening to the sea, so why not do it now; even though he had been rudely interrupted. In all honestly it did not matter to him if he had been interrupted, but he would surely began to feel the effects of bloodlust if the man had not answered his question within a two minute time period. As he finished wrapping the white tape that helped prevent harm to his knuckles he patted his pants, to an unsuspecting person it would look like something normal ; however Drake was feeling for the brass knuckles that he kept in his left pants pocket. Sighing, he would wait for the man to speak his mind. [/style]

The mans intent was obvious in his words. All it received from Morgan however was another small smile. Morgan would put away his cigars since the young man did not take one, then took another long drag.

He stood there savoring the taste and smell of the cigar for a few brief moments before walking up beside the younger man. It seemed despite the appearance Drake had, he did not come for competition. It made Morgan wonder just who he was and what he was after.

Morgan would cross his arms in front of him, resting them on his upper torso, before shooting the man a sideways glance. If Morgan had wanted his bounty, those shots that rang out would already have found their mark in his flesh. Despite being friendly, Morgan was a cautious man himself.

"Who's asking? I have no quarrels with gut shooting a marine or bounty hunter, so you better not be looking for trouble."

The man would be met with another smile. If that did not answer his question properly, as well as show he was not an idiot, that nothing would. He was obviously a pirate, and had no worries stating so.

Soon the man would put the cigars back inside his jacket and lit his own, he obviously was enjoying and savoring the fine taste that was neatly held inside the. After savoring on the taste for a while longer the man would then cross his arms in front of them and shoot Drake a sideways glance, which to the young boy had looked like a glance of interest. Drake stifled a yawn with his left hand as the man began to speak, uninterested at this point, however not wanting to seem rude which was not like him; he was always rude. He still wanted to hear what the man was saying so he cocked an ear in the man’s direction. “I was just wondering, you don’t have to be cautious of me. I’m a fellow who happens to be in the same profession as you are; gutting and beating anyone affiliated with such a government.” Drake cast a sideways glance at the man that seemed slightly taller than him, he spoke with confidence and when he spoke the last sentence; it had seemed like he wanted to get his point across. “So whatdya say your name was? If you tell me, I might just by you a beer or two.” He slurred his words not out of drunken stupidity but because he had soon grown bored of the conversation that was at hand. The young man put his hand to his hand, trying to confirm his thoughts as to when he last had a beer. Nodding like he had remembered he searched the man with his bright red optics; looking over the man as if he was a piece of property. He nodded to himself, and his thoughts started to race that he could probably use this man for his crew; only if he had a rather sinister personality and a motive. [/style]

"Heh"

Even though it didn't show, this boy interested Morgan. The way he emphasized his intentions made Morgan smile a little inside. He was glad this man was like him in the passion of hating the government.

Morgan had his own reasons, but a common enemy made them friend, not foe. With this, Morgan relaxed, but did not completely let his guard down. Some of the pirates he had met, had just as dark of intentions as the marines or bounty hunters.

"Names Morgan. Some people call me Split shot for various reasons or other. Pleasure to make your acquaintance..."

It would only be right for the crow crowned man to give his own. If he did, he would address him respectfully before uncrossing his arms and offering a hand to firmly shake.

"I'll gladly accept the offer of those couple beers. I have just the place in mind if you would trust me... We won't have to worry about running into very many bounty hunters or marines, and it's nestled nicely in the outskirts of this town, not far from here actually."

If the boy accepted, Morgan would nod. With another long drag of his cigar, Morgan would head down the beach, opposite of where he was target practicing. The two would find a row of out of place rocks after only a few minutes of traveling.

Soon they would find themselves into a small like of tree's which gave way to a back alley of sorts that was almost disconnected for the main town itself. There, they would find the place they were looking for.

It was not a fancy place, plain colored, with a large sign over it's door with missing worn down lettering. However, the inside was kept up nicely, with enough room to hold many crews. In the middle was a walk way where slave girls or free women of employment would dance down the line in skimpy clothes or in the nude for money. There were things of fancy for any taste, you just had to ask.

Drake’s interest grew as the man stated that his name was Morgan and that some people had even dared to give him an epitaph of Split Shot. The red eyed teenager smirked and nodded at the man’s comment that it was a pleasure to meet his acquaintance; it really was. Drake ran a hand through the ruffled crow’s nest that sat atop his head, speaking as he did so. “My name is Drake Cinglé Delacroix; some call me le conquérant, captain of a pirate crew known as Orthros. I also happen to have a bounty of 20,000,000 beri. It is indeed a pleasure to meet you Morgan.” The tone of which the future world conqueror spoke was polite but at the same time scary; in a sense if you were to catch it. Drake dare not speak of the heinous crimes he committed to be known to the world, rather he watched the man take a long drag on his cigar. Suddenly the man known to him as Morgan turned and began to walk down the beach. Telling Drake before he did so that he would gladly accept the offer of a couple of beers and that he had such a place in mind. It was not to long into their walk, about two minutes or so, before they came to a line of trees that opened up into an alley that seemed distant from the town. The alley had a slum appearance to Drake and this did not surprise him. The alley seemed like a nice getaway for all types of criminals. The teenager lagged behind a few steps of Morgan and as the older man turned into a bar with a sign outside with faded lettering; Drake noted it. Not too soon after the man had disappeared into the bar, several thug wannabe’s strutted up to him holding knives. “Hey~, little boy! Mind giving us some of your mone-“ The leader’s voice cut off as the air escaped his lungs, Drakes left hand had found itself in the man’s stomach; his hand bare of the brass knuckles that usually accompanied it. The head thug fell to his knees, his lips parting to make words but nothing came out. Suddenly the man sluggishly plopped to the cobblestone that lined the street, knocked out cold. The two other thugs that were with him then ran off, afraid of the kid that they were planning on assaulting for money. Acting like nothing had happened Drake walked into the bar and spotted Morgan and the girls that lined the interior. "It happens from time to time here. No worries..."

Morgan took his beer then took a seat at the bar, watching the young women up and down the stage. He didn't indulge too much in this stuff in his current state, but all along, a little was good for the soul. Morgan would drink down half his beer in one go, then give a nod of thanks to Drake.

"It's only fair I tell you my whole name, seeing as you did for me. It's Morgan Bartholomew Black. I leave around here so I know all the little hidden spots like these.

From across the room, someone would wave out and shot "Yo split shot, welcome back!". Morgan would wave back before chuckling lightly. People knew him a little bit here and there.

"So you're a captain eh. 20 mil, not bad, not bad at all. It's a pleasure to drink with a captain."

Morgan would finish his beer, before turning to order two more, this time on him. One would be set in front of Drake, the other he would pick up and start to drink on again. Occasionally puffing on what little bit of the cigar he had left until it was gone and out.

"Make yourself at home. If you need anything, just ask. The bar tender will hook you up... Other than that, may I ask why a captain such as yourself has come here?"

Taking a seat next to his new acquaintance, he grabbed the beer that the barkeeper had set there for him. Drake swiveled himself backwards in the bar stool to take a look at the spectacle that was happening on a stage not too far from them. What he saw before his eyes was girls dancing, some nude or some with skimpy clothing on, shaking the bodies for money. Uninterested he turned himself back around and raised the mug that was filled with a golden liquid to his lips. Chugging all of the heaven sent liquid, he would then set his mug back down; letting a sigh of greatness escape his lips. It was then that Morgan had told him his full name to which Drake was grateful to. The crow crowned boy did not let the man know that he too had been raised in Loguetown but never really bothered to know any of its little secret spots; for secret spots were of a trivial matter and Drake was uninterested in trivial things. From across the room came a holler welcoming the older man back; which slightly annoyed Drake. He rose his know refilled his mug when Morgan had said that it was an honor to drink with a captain and that his bounty wasn’t half bad. After finishing his second a third one was slid in front of the young man; to which he took graciously. The smell of cigar smoke soon filled the air of the bar, and he knew that it had come from Morgan without even looking. He extended a hand to his pockets, looking for his pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Drake soon found what he was looking for and plopped them next to his mug. Taking one out of its package he moved it to his lips and lit it with a firm a hand. He took a drag of the cancer stick and exhaled the smoke through his nose. Soon Morgan began to talk, it wasn’t until the man had asked why he had come there did Drake smirk. “The reason I came here? I have lived here since I was little, however a couple of years ago I set out looking for a crew. But only those I deem are worthy to join my crew, for I wish to show the World Government that we common people are not their loyal little pets. They speak of freedom. What freedom do we have when the make us bow at their neatly polished leather shoes? For that reason I’m setting out to find and select loyal crew members that would join me, however they will have to realize that my ship isn’t a democracy and what I say goes. My goal as a captain? World domination, plain and simple.” Drake had spoken with such confidence that he had let a little of his cold and calculating personality slip out. However he did not care, for he was a merciless beast that wanted revenge. Casting a sideways glance to the lone pirate he spoke calmly. “Why not join me as my marksman Morgan. If you have such confidence in your skill.” [/style]

All things said from the boys Mouth piqued interest from the white haired man, who was truly not much older. Morgan sat, curious as to what might become of him if he joined the mans crew. Surprisingly, he figured the question would come up when he heard he was a captain. A young captain, like some of them start. An up and coming rookie, possibly with some potential. Nothing spoke more adventurous than something like this.

Morgan had to think on the answer he would present. Such was the choice of his fate, whether he would go out to see, or stay as a roaming wild dog with no purpose but to expand his shooting ability. Every little thing weighed on his mind. However, that soon came to an end.

The men that had tried to jump Drake had returned. This time with a few more men then before. Say 10 or so. All of them thugs/bandits/pirates. The head that was knocked out would point Drake out then call out a threat, commanding his friends to attack. Little did the men know, the crowd inside looked over with interest. They noticed the target, Drake, and who he was with, then went to laughing and back to their own business.

As for Morgan, the start of a wry grin started on his lips. The reason he was called split shot was because of his split personality disorder, and a little was slipping through at the feel and sound of tension in the air this group brought.

"Let me ask you something Drake... Is this the business you had to attend to a while ago? If so, let me give them proper welcome."

By now, all hell had broken loose as far as Morgan was concerned. His hair was literally on end and wild now. His eyes lit up. His whole air and aura changed to one of a crazed maniac. Much different from his calm collected self.

Morgan now stood, and with a distorted laugh, put himself between Drake and the group, and prepared for the show down. The small group stopped for a moment to pause at how one man stood in their way, but that pause was quickly broken with the sound of two gunshots going off with a trail of laughter as both helter and skelter smoked from the ends of their barrels. Two men knocked off their feet and onto the floor, a now bloody mess with holes through their chests.

The men that would charge him after the shots and a moments more pause in shock and awe, would soon find that Morgan could reload a flintlock pistol rather fast. Two more shots would go off. The crowd around them backing up to avoid any collateral damage.

"Well captain, what are ye waiting for?! An invitation to join the party?"

In this crazed state, Morgan had lost all rational thought and found himself rather fond of joining a crew to wreak havoc on the sea's and land. This side of his was happy to destroy and fight. It seemed Drake had his answer, Morgan accepted the offer.

Inhaling the cancer stick he would play out how Morgan would respond in his head. However that was cut short as he exhaled the smoke through his nose and murmurs began to spread throughout the bar like a wildfire. Soon there was hushed silence as shuffled footsteps could be heard as a small mob of people began to group up right outside the entrance to the bar in which the two pirates were in. The small mob made their way inside and it none other than the group of thugs and their leader that had been knocked out with one punch. The boss of the group pointed his finger to Drake, who was still looking at the group with the cigarette dangling from his closed lips. As Morgan asked if this was the business he dealt with earlier, the crow crowned teen gave a brisk nod. Suddenly the aura around the older man shifted into a crazy person, his hair now stood up and his eyes were light and the man stood now between Drake and the opposing group of thugs. Suddenly two gunshots pierced the quiet air within the bar and it was closely followed by a sound akin to maniacal laughter; both of which came from the man known as Morgan Black. Drake leaned back so that the middle of his back touched the edges of the bar; puffing on his cigarette as he did so. The smile that had etched itself upon the young captains face was indeed creepy to some, but in his head he was thinking that this is the man I want for my gunner; a crazy person with a split personality . Two bodies dropped to the floor and a pool of crimson quickly spread, making its way underneath the neatly laid wood that was the floor. Two more people began to charge Morgan, however they were stupefied by how quick their comrades had fallen. Morgan not caring at all for the ones that he had shot reloaded fast and put the two stupefied creatures onto the floor with a bullet deep in their bodies; now adding to the blood that lay on the floor, making a lake of crimson liquid. Morgan had looked back over his shoulder and had asked Drake if he was waiting for an invitation to the party. Drake had smirked when he heard the way he had been addressed. The crow crowned young boy had been addressed as captain and he loved that word. Laughing manically he shrugged, taking out his brass knuckles and fitting them onto his hand. “Of course not your crazy bastard. Let’s give ‘em some hell for fucking around with the Orthros Pirates. We’ll kill them all!” His voice shook with excitement that only Morgan could understand. The prey that lined themselves up for slaughter on the other side of the pile of bodies, the only person who could possibly understand what he was feeling at the moment was Morgan. Drake pushed off the ground and speed into the herd of thugs, punching anything he could possibly get his hands to connect with. He hit one, two, three, five thugs with brass knuckles. The impact of metal on flesh made blood spurt out of his prey’s mouths. This is what he wanted, the feeling of absolute dominance; it was this that he craved for. The young captain licked the blood that had gotten on his brass knuckles, showing the he was indeed one crazy motherfucker. It was after this strange spectacle that he once again threw himself into the mob of thugs, destroying anyone and everyone that dare defy him. [/style]

"Damn right!"

Morgan danced between enemies, as one after the other fell to their hands. Soon, it became a cheer fest as the rest of the crowd laughed and egged them on. This place was obviously very violent and was made sport out of all the time.

Soon, there was only one left standing, the big boss. He attempted a surprise attack on Drake, Morgans new captain. That did not end very well for the captain though. The sound of a hammer being pulled back would be the last for the man as smoke filled the air and a ball of lead went through one of his ears and out the other. Cleanly, no exploding head, but blood sprayed everywhere.

Morgan grinned wide and laughed deranged liked. He reloaded, spun his guns on his fingers then slid them back into their holsters. Before long, his air began to change once again. His hair had calmed, his mood had calmed, and he pulled out a cigar from his pack, this time apple wood, and lit it. He took a loooong deep puff and exhaled out deeply.

"It seems I got myself into a pretty big situation eh? I can't turn back now. I guess this is a time to celebrate eh captain? ROUNDS ON THE HOUSE! Paid for by the poor thugs."

Ace went over and looted the group, which happened to be just enough to pay for a round of beers for the whole house. Of course, he saved enough for 2 beers each for him and the captain. Handing him one, he raised his beer.

"To a wild life of adventure!"

The crowd that had been by the stage were roaring with laughter at the site of Morgan and Drake destroying the poor thugs that dared to defy them. The crow crowned boy smiled, they must enjoy spectacles like these all the time. The red eyed demon threw a punch into what he that was the last thug standing when he heard a roaring sound split the air. The man in front of Drake thudded to the floor; bleeding and in a near death like state. Behind the black clad young man a body hit the floor and as he turned around he was splattered with blood. The crimson liquid hitting his cheeks, wiping the blood off of his face he looked at Morgan holstering both pistols. Who by now had returned to his previous self. The wild and murderous aura around him faded, and the man was pulling out his cigar and lighter. Walking over to the death infested area, Morgan looted money from the dead bodies. It was then Morgan had said that the next round of bears was on the house. To which Drake responded with a smile and a small nod. The crow crowned boy eased the brass knuckles off his hand and shoved the pieces of metal into his pocket and took a seat on the swivel chair. Morgan was not far behind and he had two beers in his hand, giving one to Drake he had said to a wild life of adventure. This made Drake smile his wicked smile and he nodded again, toasting to with his newfound crewmember. █ END [/style]
