I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know

The reality of their predicament had finally started to sink in. They were fugitives, though if they were going to evade capture, they certainly had found a way to do it in style. The boat that they had stolen was large, study, and well maintained. With a few renovations it would certainly make a suitable vessel for them to live on until the heat in Loguetown died down. However, neither of them had navigation training, and drifting about at sea for long periods of time could be dangerous.
“You know Triton”
Hotaru shouted down from her perch on the yard holding the sail to the mast.
“This boat is a little too big for just the two of us. We should probably pick someone up with some navigation skills so we dont get lost and die out here!”
The idea of assembling a full crew had crossed her mind a few times since setting sail, though she wasn’t sure how receptive to the thought her companion would be. Still, the idea of finding her own treasure for a change was a tantalizing prospect, so she would be keeping her eyes peeled for anything worth collecting as they laid low from the authorities of Loguetown.

Well, and just like that it seemed things had taken quite the change for Triton. He and Hotaru had gone from local thieves and black market dealers to Pirates in one small scuffle, the deaths of those men no doubt branding them fugitives to the Marines. He had been used to evading them before, but this was a whole new ball game, now they were wanted not only in Loguetown, but anywhere else that the World Government ran, making them essentially wanted anywhere with civilized people living on it! You might expect one to take this news quite bad, but Triton was loving every minute of it, the only thing that had ever stopped him before was lack of a reliable crew, he supposed Hotaru was as good a start as he was gonna get, "I think you might be right. . ." Triton spoke loudly, located on the deck directly beneath Hotaru, standing over several maps sprawled over a table, "Because I have no idea what I'm looking at down here!" The ship was well-maintained and stocked indeed, including navigational equipment - but unfortunately for Triton, he didn't really know how to navigate beyond reading which direction they were headed in via a compass. Thankfully that was enough for now, the two of them knowing the bare-minimum to set sail, headed off for another Blue entirely, at least until the heat died down on them! "So does this make me First Mate?" Trition asked himself out loud as he walked towards the front of the ship, boots thudding on the deck with each step until he made it to the very front, elbows propped on the railing as he looked over the edge. He couldn't deny how exciting this all felt - being adventurous by nature - I mean, they had their own boat now and everything, all that was left was to assemble a full crew, right? They had the freedom to do whatever they wanted and the talent to back it up, he supposed all they needed to do now was make a name for themselves, "We're gonna come up with a cool name for us, right?"

“A name?”
She responded. She hadn’t put any thought into it all. In fact, she wasn’t entirely sure she wanted to start a pirate crew in the first place. Still, Triton seemed enthused enough for the both of them so she figured she could give it a shot.
A name...
Her mind bounced from idea to idea, unable to come up with anything she felt was worthy of naming their crew after. After several minutes of pondering, something caught the corner of her eye. A dark shadow beneath the sea approached from the east, displacing a large amount of water as it’s enormous body passed just centimeters from the surface of the ocean. Her gaze locked on to the approaching mass, which if it continued on it’s current path would collide directly with their ship.
“Uh...Triton...”
Hotaru called apprehensively, her gaze never leaving the giant dark mass approaching at an alarming rate. Before she was able to muster any more words, the shadow had closed in on their ship.
Just before the mass would have rammed into their boat, the top half of a ferocious reptilian head surfaced with amber eyes the size of boulders gazing directly at their ship. In an instant, a strange combination of adrenalin and fear filled her form. Her heart sank to the pit of her stomach and yet she had never been so excited or intrigued.
Just a few meters from the ship, the monstrous sea creature, which was no doubt a “Sea King”, dove deeper into the ocean. A surge of water rocked the boat, tipping it to the point of capsizing. Holding on to the yard of the sail, she watched as the tail of the beast finally slithered into the depths, leaving no evidence of it’s visit other than a rocking ship.
She wasn’t sure why they weren't destroyed on the spot. Maybe it had already eaten; maybe it got some kind of cheap thrill out of scaring sailors; or maybe it didnt want to consume an entire boat for only two people. Whatever the reason, Hotaru was inspired.
“How about the Sea Kings?”
She finally said as the ship regained its balance. She thought the name was fit for a group of pirates, since nothing else was considered as dangerous at sea than this monstrous species. Maybe naming themselves after the ocean giants would give them good luck.

When he was leaning over the front of the ship he wasn't paying much attention, simply watching the waves smacking into the bottom of the boat, mind aimlessly wandering, mostly considering all the things they could do out there. It wasn't until he barely caught Hotaru speaking his name that his head propped up, peripheral vision immediately catching onto the massive figure to his flank, the sight of such a large beast immediately putting him on his guard. He turned fully to face it, moving to the side of the boat in which it was closest, anchor gripped firmly in his hand. . . would they have to fight it? "Uh oh . . ." It was getting closer and closer, its size alone large enough to destroy the entire ship if it was so inclined, was there really anything Triton could do at this point to stop it? He figured he could try to throw the anchor at it, maybe even fire some cannonballs at it, but would that be enough before it could sink them? He bit at his lip, eyes staring straight ahead, completely focused on the beast, and then for whatever reason it would just dip back under the water - completely avoiding them, although its sheer size churning the waters to the point of heavily tipping the boat. The large wave crashed into the ship, tipping the entire thing to the side! Triton grabbed onto the railing quickly with one hand, his other lifting the anchor and hooking it to the side just in case, "God dam he was big!" Triton yelled up as the boat rocked back and forth, he'd continue to hold on until it settled down enough for him to balance himself, at which point he quickly took off to check if they didn't get knocked off course, barely hearing his Captain proposing their new name, "The Sea Kings? I kinda like that actually." I mean, what better name for a Pirate crew? Little scared more than the monsters that roamed the oceans, their nests were feared more than almost any Pirate crew or Marine fleet out there. It seemed to be an appropriately intimidating name, because if Triton had anything to do about it, the Marines were going to know who they were, and they were going to know they had their hands full! With a chuckle he'd consult the compass, confirming that they were in fact still headed in the right direction, and judging by how nicely the wind was blowing it wouldn't be long before they got there. . . well, as far as he could tell anyways. "So. . . are we official Pirates now?"
