Ah darkness, sweet wonderful darkness. An all-embracing jet-black shade covering the entirety of the city save the dots of light from street lamps and houses with lights in them. This was the image of Illusia at almost all times. For Alexandria, who had lived here for the past few years as a thief and street urchin, it felt like home. Her hatred of all these humans had festered after she had been able to murder her old master and free herself from her bindings as a slave, leaving her finally ready to set out on a journey.
But in order to set out on this journey, she would need a ship and a crew, two things which this small teenager didn't really have readily available. The boat wouldn't be overwhelmingly hard. Money was easy to come by if a person had the guts to attempt and succeed at a huge robbery. But the real issue was finding a crew. With all of the scum on this earth, how was she going to find the few people worthy to cause chaos unrestrained with her. She was going to kill, torture, and steal her way through the seas; not many would be willing to follow that. It proved that the garbage walking the streets didn't have the mentality required to live.
But that situation could be dealt with on the fly. Alex was interested in getting this ship, which brought her to the mission she had now. This ancient book of unknown contents was worth plenty of money to get her started. And that took her to where she was now, bathed in shadow, waiting for her partner on this mission. This partner was a woman that she had worked with on a couple of occasions before... but they knew a grand total of nothing about each other. In fact, Alex didn't even remember her name if she had given it before.
Maybe this mission was one that they would finally break that barrier. In the torture session, Alex would probably figure out whether the woman was ready to be working with her after all. The thought of getting to torture someone sent a shiver down her spine. She couldn't wait.

" hello again, miss lumina," she greeted, refusing to say the girl's first name that was the same as her previous master's. After a bit, her partner came into view, dawdling as she came and wrapping her arms around herself. It seemed like the girl was going to have a mental breakdown in the middle of the road. Alex's eyes narrowed in contempt. If this woman was going to slow her down, then there was no room for her to be helping with this mission. Even more than that, if she couldn't handle walking in the middle of the night, how would she react when blood started to fly. If it wasn't positive, then the woman was garbage just like the rest.
But for the time being, the red haired lady would get the benefit of the doubt since she hadn't been such a liability in the past. At least Alex didn't think she had... nameless people didn't register as important, so maybe she just forgot all together. No more time for musing as the no-name lady had finally reached her, no worse for wear from the end of the block. At least she didn't collapse or something.
When she spoke, she used Alex's last name, which means they did know each other, at least more than the smaller girl remembered. God... she thought, aggravated that they had exchanged names and she was expected to remember, What was this trash's name... After a few seconds, she gave up and just turned around, her back now facing the lady and her front facing the direction to the home, which was a few blocks away at this point. "I'll assume you know the basics of what we are doing. Sneaking in, getting the code from the old lady and stealing the book. Don't slow me down, and don't do anything stupid. And tell me your name again. I don't remember it."
Her demeanor was cold, as it always was, which wasn't exactly helped by the fact that she was giddy and impatient about getting to the home already. There was a ripe old lady waiting to be cut... Waiting around here was boring in comparison. So she walked, albeit slowly, and listened to the girl as she responded. They would soon slip over a wall and drop into the back yard of the old lady which was covered in rather dense foliage, a tribute to her money. She could afford lamps to keep them alive. Good thing they only stayed on some of the day though.
