The crime lords are rising!?[TRAVEL TO NORTH BLUE]

Marik sat at his home, sipping on a cup of the fine coffee his chef had made for him so that he could get his day started without a pinch. He sat at the poach of his house in Loguetown which looked out over much of the islands central city, in his hand his glass of coffee that was letting of steam at the top; his lips would touch the glass every now and then and take a small sip of the liquid, taking in all its flavors and letting it wake him up a little more so he could start his day on good terms. He enjoyed look out over Loguetown, especially in the morning when the sun was rising out of the horizon to give notice that a new day was starting, and so was a new experience.

He wasn't sure what was ahead for him in this day, but he had a hunch it was likely going to be another dull day where he would be coupe up in his office, only to play chess with himself or do some paperwork. If not that, then the admirals were probably going to send him another order for some mission that a petty officer could handle, and so he would be forced to get his hands dirty. It was what he was accustom to, so he suspected today would likely be no different. Still, in the back of his mind he did feel a slight feeling that something out of the ordinary was going to happen today. Or maybe it was just him hoping that? Either way way, he would have to wait to find out.

On him, Marik wore a white dress shirt and black slacks that he had not too long ago gotten into as he had plans on leaving once he was finish with his cup of coffee. On a second chair beside him was his treasured black and purple cloak which he treasured. With his legs crossed over the other, he closed his eyes as he let a pass of breeze kiss his skin and suite his hair.

"Sir." The sound of his butler came from behind him, which caused him to open his eyes a few minutes to address the worker. He turned his head in the butlers direction, looking over his shoulder a little. In his hands the elder butler held a den den mushi, which would have meant likely that Marik had a message due. Marik still said nothing and didn't take the den den mushi immediately and instead let his facial expression say what he was thinking; which would of course be 'who is it?'.

"There is a message from the Marines ninety-first fleet addressed to you Master Swift," the butler replied, all the while keeping his face serious.

Marik placed his cup of coffee down on the glass top table and offered his hand out to take the Den Den Mushi, all the while still peering out over Loguetown. The Butler handed him said Den Den Mushi and with a nod, he left Marik to the call privately. "Yes, Captain Marik Swift of East Blue's Loguetown Marine Base speaking," Marik spoke into the Den Den Mushi.

"Captain Swift, there is a urgent request for you here at the North Blue Marine Base, direct request from the vice-admiral, Zaharov himself. He requested that you report to North Blue immediately for a meeting pertaining to the Nine First Marine Fleet which he governs."

I wonder what tedious task these admirals intend to give me now, Marik pondered to himself for several seconds as the conversation got silent. "Very well," he finally replied. "Inform him, I'll report to the base as soon as possible, hopefully before dawn tomorrow. Reservations would not be necessary for my stay there as I already have a home situated there for whenever I visit."

"Very well Captain Swift. He also said to tell you that it all pertains to the crime lord Akira. If that is all then excuse me," the officer said and the Den Den Mushi was disconnected.

Crime Lord Akira? Marik let the name play on his conscience for a while in an attempt to find some sort of link, but didn't find search. Still he knew that him having to be shipped out of East Blue to go to North Blue was probably for something urgent, so he had no objections, especially since this whole thing sounded like something he would like rather than his everyday routine which had quickly grown annoying and tedious to him.

Finishing his thoughts on everything within the short span conversation over the Den Den Mushi, Marik took his cup of coffee and sipped down the last sip of it that was left in the white tea cup. He followed through and stood up to his feet and took another deep gaze out over Loguetown for a last moment of view. He closed his eyes, let another gust of wind kiss his skin, and spun on his heel, taking up his treasured cloak as he did so, and left the balcony and entered back into his house.

"Sir Jaffrey," he spoke to his butler who he was busy washing up some dishes. His words drew the attention of the three maids who were busy tidying up the room. "Prepare a ship to set sail towards North Blue immediately." He spoke his last words and propped down on te large couch that was within his home's living room quarters, and took a comfortable seat as he crossed his leg over the other. If anyone was to look at him they would clearly see the wide smirk he wore at his face. Through said smirk was always there, but this one was because of his excitement of how he felt a new chapter in his life was beginning which spelled the beginning of a new arc.

While a certain Captain might be having a fairly nice little day in Lougetown another member of the Marines was not doing so well, then again ever since he came to this infernal Blue one thing after another has been slowly pushing the good Doctor into nearly snapping. He was forced to play ship Doctor for an crew made up of fresh recruits that act worse than five year olds that miss their afternoon nap, had then been forced to deal with a very nasty little former Marine member who had the gall to shoot him in the back, and finally was forced to swallow the fact that the 99th fleet was currently being restructured due to lack of activity.

Simply put East Blue was now his very very least favorite place in the world and if he had his way he would kill or convert every living creature in it into machines. So with the entire reason he was here now no longer even possible he was resigned to move from Commi Islands to Lougetown. His reasons for being in the area being that he hoped to find a ship that could transport him to North Blue upon learning the 91st was still looking for Marines. Thus he had to endure being packed with Civilians on a ship that took him to the Lougetown Island and was now walking amongst the cities winding streets as he moved toward the Marine Docks.

He figured he could easily find a ship there that could take him and was counting on his skills for being Marine Scientist to help him take care of any traveling expenses. He knew having doctors/navigators/mechanics on a ship was a boon for any crew and would make his presence useful, upon finally actually reaching the docks he did see quite a few ships were waiting to set sail all over the world. One ship though caught his attention due to how it seemed to be a high profile one, thus he drew closer to the vessel and asked one of the men working on the ship to inform him where it was going. Upon hearing it was to set sail for the North Blue Victor began to look for the one in charge of it....he would see if he could diplomatically gain passage upon the ship.....without the need for him to take a bullet in the process hopefully as he thought 'I swear upon my cold heart if I get shot again by a fellow Marine I shall be done with this entire organization.....I do not have time to waste on repairing myself every time a temperamental fool feels the need to shoot at me.'

Several minutes later, Marik was at the dock where his prestige ship was situated ready to sail once he so choose. The ship was one of the many his father owned, and was large enough that most wouldn't consider it a cruise ship, but instead practically a island or something since it was about half the size of Loguetown itself. Despite its size and potential to be a great cruise ship his father considered it still too small to even be a cruise ship, and so instead it was one of his own personal yachts, fully customized with things as swimming pools, spars, bedrooms, and was large enough to even come with a training room equipped with lasers, mazes, booby traps, etc.

When Marik had arrived at the dock his first sighting was a strange fellow who was presently talking to the ship's bodyguard. The man didn't look like much, but Marik hated, and knew much better than to judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Hmm. He probably thinks this is a cruise ship or something, Marik thought as he furrowed his eyebrow a little at the sight. He didn't ponder on the man's reason for being for too long though as he believed that things in life only got done if one addressed it, but he did grow interest at the sight - although he grew interest whenever he met a new person so it probably didn't count. Either way, with his usual polite smile at his lips, he proceeded to the strange fellow.

"Is everything set and ready?" he asked the bodyguard as he proceeded to the ship, and in response he had earned a desirable nod. He stopped once he reached the man who was before the bodyguard, and still smiled as he spoke. "You seem lost. And in case your wondering, which I would hope to believe you are, yes, this is my ship. Well not necessary mines, but more so my father's." He said and peered up at the large vessel in somewhat of admiration. He and his father was never on really good terms, in fact it was safe to say he hated his father since he was practically the worst person on the face of the earth. Still, he admired his father's achievements, despite how he achieved said achievements. Still he wanted to surpass that man someday and show him the errors of his ways, or something of that sort.

Putting his thoughts of his father aside, Marik scanned the man once more from the more close view, taking advantage of everything he could muster. Long white trench coat, messy black hair, goggles, and the most distinctive of all, a mechanical arm that didn't look like the man was trying to hide in the slightest. All in all, he looked like something out of a scifi movie. But Marik had heard about cyborgs through many of the books he had read, so he wasn't put at unease by the man's appearance. Still, it was a bit interesting to meet one, especially out of the ordinary like this. He had a feeling deep down that something interesting was going to happen either today or during his voyage to the North, but he didn't expect it to be this to say the very least. Still, cyborg or not Marik once more never judged a person until he really got to know their character.

Victor didn't need to have powerful hearing to detect that another was walking up behind him due to the simple fact that docks be they wood or concrete make noises when walked upon, either that of creaking wood or the sound of shoes or feet hitting the hard solid surface with a resounding smack or tap depending on one's attire. Thus he turned his head to look over his shoulder at the approaching figure and simply stared for the moment, though with his goggles over his eyes it was near impossible to tell if he was staring, looking the fellow man over, or looking past the fellow and that is how Victor likes it.

He did notice the male was well dressed and was most likely one of those rich sorts, but the polite smile did cause him to be less weary since the smile might imply this one was not a spoiled brat...he wasn't holding his breath though. As the man moved to talk to the sailor Victor had talked to recently the Cyborg opted to step out of the way to avoid being in the middle, he might not be the most well mannered being in the world but Victor knows how to at least be civil enough to not be loathed by every creature that meets him.

Upon hearing that the ship was ready to be underway Victor was about to start an conversation with the apparent owner of the ship, only to have said male talk to him first and begin to explain a few things though the scientist did not find pleasure in hearing one say he looked lost. He knew what he was doing and why he was here but he kept that to himself, he opened his jaws a few times to loosen them so he could talk as the sound of scraping metal filled the air like the joints of some machine moving after being left still for a good amount of time.

Victor then began to talk in his odd metallic voice as he responded to the male while turning to face the man "Lost is not quite true to be exact, I came to this particular place due to the fact I am currently looking for a vessel that is setting sail for the North Blue. Your ship stood out the most for....-motions to its huge size- glaringly obvious reasons and so was the first one I approached to learn of its future destination. Before your arrival I was able to acquire information on that from the man you spoke with just recently, and as such I would like to inquire if I may be able to join your vessel on its trip. It quite annoying trying to get from one blue to the next when one is a Marine Scientist without station......"

Victor's mouth snapped shut after that as he began to fully look over the male before him to get better information, his eyes working to see what category this male fell into, what his threat level was, what rank this man might be at if in an organization, and to make rough estimates of the male's physical abilities. Noting the fact the man's ship was in the Marine dock it was easy to figure out this male was a Marine as well, and with a bit of searching learned that this was a Rear Admiral that must be of a wealthy family. To go further he was sure that this fellow was not a rough and tumble due to the male's physical structure, it was that of say an range fighter or maybe a strategist of some type though hit and run user was also possible. Victor though said nothing nor did he move as he did this leaving an awkward silence while waiting for the fellow Marine's response.

The way the man scanned Marik didn't bother him. It was in human nature to take notes of every person they meet whether it be in a short or long conversation, as long as their brain had the mental capacity to remember they would interrogate. Marik did his interrogating a little more as he got down to the slightest detail he could in a person, sometimes unknowingly, and so he had a trait of memorizing even people he passed on the streets, all of this made him very good at memorizing faces; although he would admit he sometimes couldn't put name to face. This fellow seemed to carry a level of interrogation similar to Marik since he was scanning Marik up and down unrestrained. He could guess everything the man probably was thinking as he did so.

Putting that aside when he heard the loud scraping sound the man generated with his jaw, Marik let the annoying sound slide and listen to his reason for being. "Don't take this the wrong way, but this ship is very expensive, usually used by the most royal members of society to do business," Marik said seriously. "So, of course you can have a lift. You're quite lucky since you happen to come across me while I had decide to set sail to North Blue. Its actually my first time visiting another blue in like seven years." He chuckle lightly and walked into the ship waving his arm so that the bodyguard would allow the man to enter.

He felt a little playful today. He was told robots... cyborgs, couldn't laugh. since it was his first time meeting one he felt the need to probably test that theory for his own personal amusement. He could remember going on trips with his father to the different blues, all of which was more than seven years ago, and on those journeys he had met many different things ranging from cyborgs, to slaves, to devil fruit testing labs, and World Government meetings. But never had he actually met a cyborg with actual human characteristics and was independent in its actions - since the ones he had met were either controlled automatically by remotes, or had built in orders. So all in all, he felt a little excited of the entire thing as it unfolded.

As he walked he would have expect the man to follow behind him suite, and as they walked through the ship's deck towards the insides Marik remember that he hadn't ask of the man's name. "Oh yea. We haven't really introduce ourselves have we," he said walking steadily without looking back. "I guess we can start with names that way we can refer to each other on a first name basis instead of me having to refer to you as 'the guest', which I doubt you would like me to call you. Am I right?" He looked back at him with a slim smile. "Either way after that feel free to ask myself or one of my men for anything you like since you're my guest up until we reach North Blue."

Marik once again felt that sudden feeling of excitement full his nerves at having the man aboard his ship. He could tell a little bit about the man by the way he dressed. His way of speaking was a little. But his mention of being a marine scientist made Marik interest only intensify a bit more. He wondered what sort of scientist. But he figured he'd have the man take a seat before he'd ask any further questions. He was pleased he had mentioned he was a marine as well. At least he knew he didn't have as much to worry about as compared to a pirate or such, and with them both being on the same side he could maybe even make a recruit for the ninety-first fleet.

Victor was not that interested in knowing more about the ship since as long as it got him from point A to point B safely and at an reasonable speed he didn't care, that is to say at least till he has a ship of his own. Then he might start to care more simply from the ownership standpoint but for now he silently listened to the male talk, but the unwanted information about the ship was worth hearing that the Marine Rear Admiral was willing to give Victor a lift.

Victor then listened to the male go on about how lucky the good Doctor was that he met the man and so forth with other unessential information, he still humored it though without issue since if he must become social to gain free transportation then fair enough as it is a fair cost. Victor soon watched the Rear Admiral signal the bodyguard to let him through and soon took up steps behind the human, he did how ever keep a few paces behind the male just in case the human suddenly stopped on him to spin around to talk. But while Victor waked up the gangplank to get onto the ship both parties could hear the loud groan of protest the wood was making, it seemed as soon as Victor got on it began to sag and make all that uncomfortable sound and to that Victor stared at the wood and tilted his head before saying to himself "How odd that wood has become so vocal in communicating its distress about my weight after the cyberization process.....curious...."

While Victor did not say a word to the other male directly and was even ignoring the man at the moment, his statement to himself was easy to hear and made it clear to the Rear Admiral that Victor was quite heavy regardless of his stature. The Scientist though shook off his thoughts about the wood's protesting of his weight, and made it the rest of the way onto the ship and giving the poor gangplank a break from having four hundred pounds focused onto small points on it. He then proceeded to follow the human where ever he went since the Doctor figured the man still wished to talk to him, and sure enough he was proven right as he listened to the man talk about introductions and what not.

Victor had felt this would come up and kept his jaws loose to prevent another loosening up moment, he then said "Your statement is logical and correct in most regards, I am Victor T. Brzezinski at your service until we reach our new destination I suppose. As for my stay here......all I require is access to chemicals, small amounts of food and water, a place of rest, and to not be swarmed by the crew. I am not a people person and actively avoid large crowds.....that and I've had my monthly fill of answering mild medical questions for less educated Marines...." Victor was not trying to sound like ass but to be frank he rather sound like that than deal with the paperwork that comes with him snapping a man's arm.....

Marik ignored the man talk of him being heavy. He did admire the way he speak of it though. The way it was said justified the level of intelligence Marik had long ago figure he possessed from a simple first glance. Maybe he could test his wits or something of the sort Marik figured to himself. Although first he would first need to know what kind of study he was focused on as a scientist. Biological? Mechanical? Philosophical? Marik pondered on the thought for a second. Either way, he would only find out by asking.

He listened to the man, who went by the name Victor T. Brzezinski spoke as the two strolled pass the interior of the ship towards a room with better accommodation; sightseeing could come later if Victor so chose. Weird last name, he though to himself but didn't voice his thoughts. As the man voiced his demands, Marik listened carefully so that he could later grant those demands. Can a cyborg really eat and drink water, he thought to himself with a furrow eyebrow.

After Victor finished speaking he took a minute to admire candid people, and Victor seemed to be quite categorized as such a person. When a person was frank, despite to some it was rude, Marik instead saw it as intrepid. He admired intrepid since he believed that only that sort of mentally was what got things done in the cycle called life. Still, there was a fine line between intrepid and disrespectful, and Marik never crossed that line. Victor hadn't crossed that line so far. But maybe that was just Marik's polite nature not allowing him to see it. Either way, there still wasn't nothing wrong with disrespect as most times it was needed when being intrepid.

Either way, when the two reached the room, Marik entered first and proceeded to where there were two large three sitter couches opposing each other, with a table separating them both at the middle. The room was not too large, but against the walls it did home a large flat screen television, across in a corner was a large cooler. The rest of the room consisted of light brown colors with low dimmed lights, the way Marik liked it since he was no a fan of bright colors and bright lighting.

Marik took a seat on one of the long couches, crossing one of his legs over the other and gestured for Victor to do the same on the opposite couch. He hadn't respond to Victor in a while, but he had remembered everything that was instead and simply didn't choose to respond to them yet. "Nice to meet you Sir Victor. Refreshments are in that refrigerator behind me, feel free to take what you like," he said signalling to it. "I believe my men should be able to provide you with these chemicals. You'll be guided to your room after this, so don't worry about it too much." To the last comments Marik chuckled lightly with a smile. "I understand your need for privacy and I respect that. Don't worry about that, I take no pleasure in violating ones privacy."

Putting requests and demands out of the way, Marik felt the need to get to a few less formal matters. "I hope this isn't being too inquisitive of me if I ask. But tell me more about yourself. Namely, I've been wondering what sort of scientist are you? Since your a cyborg, I would believe you're into mechanics?"

Victor was actually not implying that the male before him was an idiot or undereducated just that he had his fill of the lower grunts' idiocy, but none the less what was done was done and the Doctor was pleased to see that the male was not angered by his words. He was quite enjoying that fact really as not having something hostile trying to occupy the same point in space as himself is refreshing, he was thus going to maybe ease up on his normally cold nature toward the male if only a tad. It only logical for a being to become more receptive and civil around another being that has been acting in positive ways, and so he did follow the Rear Admiral with a bit more haste and relaxed himself a slight bit more.

Once they reached the room that the higher ranked male wished for them to be he followed inside and began to scan his eyes around, he for the moment did not notice the man's gesture to take a seat due to his need to know where things are around him in a room. He noted the number of couches, the material they appeared to be made of, the positions of them in the room, the colors of items in the rooms, the exact sizes of the TV, and other minor things that he liked knowing when in a new place. Only once he was done did he begin to move to the couch he was directed to, he then very carefully and slowly lowered himself down into the furniture due to learning from pass experience. The couch did sag a bit where he sat and he sank a small amount into it but only slightly as the springs were holding up well, he leaned back into the couch after that and moved his hands to his lap as he intertwined his fingers as he listened to the other male.

He took note of the Sir placed before his name and did wonder why that was there but figured it was pointless, as long as he knew when he was being talked to and what he was called didn't insult him he was fine with what ever a person referred to him by. He was then pleasantly surprised by how accommodating this rich fellow was to him, he was starting to loathe one thing though....he was actually starting to not dislike this man like he does most others. It wasn't that he was a naturally hateful person he just not one for friends, comes with the territory of being made into a cyborg by a former 'friend' in the most painful and unapproved way. He shook those dark thoughts away though and focused on the task at hand before saying "It is a pleasant surprise to meet an fellow Marine that seems to understand my desires....you have my....-seems to struggle with this part-..gratitude for that."

Victor was thankfully able to have this bothersome issue get distracted by human's following questions, though at first he was about to mentally groan at the man asking to know more about the Doctor. That is until he learned the man just wished to learn more about his field of studies, to that he was about to respond till he felt his chest begin to sting a bit. This caused him to quickly stand up and sigh for a moment as he said "I shall answer your questions in a moment.....must handle feeding the mechanical part of me at the moment." With that he reached into one of his coat pockets and pulled out a vile filled with black liquid, he took the cap off the vile and soon the scent of the liquid could be smelled. To be frank it wasn't a horrible scent like rotting flesh or anything, but it had a scent that could instantly inform all living creatures that it was not something they want near them.

He held the vile with his left hand while his right moved to his jacket and grabbed the zipper that blended in with the coat, he began to pull the zipper down allowing the covering he had to peel away and allow the Admiral to see the extent of Victor's cyberization. He would notice that the entire lower half of Victor's face down to the base of his neck was no longer flesh and blood, but of dull metal plates and joints though the part that stood out the most would be his mouth as it was not human like at all. It was like that of some demon with his pointed angular teeth pressing together to form an tight mess, clearly the man was able to use his mouth to bite into things with deadly force to say the least. But as he pulled the zipper down further to allow his chest to be seen another odd part of his body was shown, this part was located on the center of his chest where the sternum was at...it glowed and pulsed with energy as did the tubes that connected it to the rest of the good Doctor's body. Didn't take a genius to see that was his power core and the man was able to watch as Victor moved the vile of black liquid closer to it, once close enough the core flashed a few times and the protective armor placed over it opened up to allow the Doctor to pour the black liquid inside.

Once done the core closed up and began to glow brighter as it seemed the device uses the unknown liquid as fuel, and as such now it was clear why Victor asked for chemicals......he needs it for not only his studies but for making more fuel. As this finished up Victor put the vile back in his pocket and zipped his lab coat back up to cover his parts, he then said "Now that is out of the way onto your question.....you are only partly correct to say I am in Mechanics. My original studies were in Biology and Chemistry due to my work on manufacturing powerful toxins, be they biological or chemical in nature. I have changed my studies to include Cybernetics due to.....events outside of my control. Does that answer your questions or do you require more information Sir....hmmm odd never did quite hear your name. Would you provide me an name I shall call you by or is calling you Rear Admiral more to your liking?"

The man had seem to have some sort of a struggle with the word gratitude. Possible some deep, dark past experience had made him ungrateful to others, so it was had for him to find someone he could be grateful to. Nevertheless, Marik wouldn't pry into the man's personal life as he believed that a person shares their thoughts only when they feel needed, and trying to get them to is in many ways disrespectful.

Putting that aside, Marik was not confused or surprised, more so fascinate by the cyborg's next set of actions. He could smell the scent of that liquid the scientist cyborg had pulled out of his lab coat and for a second pondered what kind of mixture was it. But despite being smart, his intelligence was in the field of strategy, and so he was no scientist so even if explained he probably wouldn't understand nevertheless. He did sniff the acid though, and while it didn't smell bad, common sense could tell anyone that something that smelled like that or was black like that wasn't something they would drink in their right mind.

His body was composed primarily of metal. Not the best of metal, and his structure wasn't exactly the best he had seen, but nevertheless he wouldn't judge it. Regardless of how good the man was configured it was nevertheless a pleasure to see it, and he deeply admired it. Maybe he could provide him with some metal to upgraded his frame, Marik figured to himself. Either way, he would offer that later.

When he was done their conversation continued. The sentence, 'events out of his control', made Marik curious. Another hint of some sort of bad past. Still once again he would not pry any further than his curiosity. Biology and chemistry. A possible doctor and chemist, Marik thought to himself as he continued to listen on.

Marik laughed lightly. "I forgot to give you my name. Thought the bodyguard had inform you of it. Nevertheless, a real gentleman introduces himself personally. My full name is Marik Swift, but just call me Marik... for now. It is a little disappointing your not into mechanics since I am currently seeking a mechanic to build a few things for me, but such is life," Marik said and ran a hand through his hair to enjoy its silky feeling. He lied since he already had some basic knowledge on how to build one of this large cyborgs, but he was always looking for some sort of help.

"So tell me..." he paused for a second."So, tell me. You mentioned being a marine scientist. I'd think to believe your a fleet as such, or are you solitary since you mentioned hating being around large crowds and not being a people person."

Victor was quite pleased that the male did not do anything more than watch as the doctor worked on himself and even more so with the fact he didn't have any gasp of surprise or disgust happening. But he focused on what the Rear Admiral said more so than his thoughts of approval, upon hearing the male's full name he checked his memories for anything on this man and came up with nothing at the moment. He figured the male was trained in a different location than Victor was and left it at that, the good Doctor then said "No he did not but then again I never asked for a name from the man, I find it best to get the name from the person itself not another."

Victor though did tilt his head ever so slightly at the comment about Marik wishing he had a mechanic, he soon tilted his head back in place and seemed to be in thought for a moment but shook it off. Victor was simply curious as to what the man could of possibly wanted constructed, he figured the human hand plenty of funding to get what ever he wished but oh well not his prerogative to learn about such things. He then said "Mechanics in the sense of constructing simple machines was never my forte, I enjoy being able to work on organic tissue. Victor though was a bit confused by the following comments that Marik made and arched an eyebrow at this, the cyborg staring him down as if trying to bore his way into the man's mind to find out what he was really trying to figure out. After a minute of this he then said "When I first became a Scientist I was stationed at Marine Headquarters where I could focus on my work in peace, after my transformation though I had gained the ability to actively protect myself. Thus after proper training and conditioning I was able to request leaving HQ to go abroad, they allowed it though on an condition I join a Fleet and as such this is why I am trying to join one. I had come to East Blue to join the 99th but seems they are being restructured and as such I ended up in the situation you found me in when we met....now tell me this. What reasons caused you to bring up such a question, curiosity only or is there another motive going on in that head of yours?" Victor did not act like he was bothered by the question and so was quite relaxed as he asked this, seems he was simply curious about Marik's motives.

Marik listened attentively to the man's reason for choosing the fields he did as a scientist, and had to admit he was learning a bit about the man. He already had a basic idea on what kind of person this Victor was thanks to his natural ability of human psychological behavior. True the man wasn't exactly a human, but he did possess the brain of a human so despite his exterior didn't say he was human, his interior objected to it.

True Marik had the funds necessary to hire a person to build what he needed, but it wasn't exactly his funds. Once again all that money was his father own. And while his father had a lot of it to offer and gaze Marik whatever he asked for, Marik's small resentment for the man made him deny calling upon that man he called father. It was both ignorant and a act of independence on his behalf. He hated using this ship to fulfill his journey, but still Marik was far from a idiot, as such he took advantage of some f his father's wealth when he can, and tried to maintain his independence whenever he could, which was why he now seeking out a mechanic of his own.

"So your somewhat make things such as humans as powerful or as effective as a robot I take it?" Marik furrowed his eyebrow as if questioning. "So I take it that you have hopes of somewhat creating generic human beings without the use of metallic textures as scientist use now right? And instead fully capable and independent beings with the exact same texture as a human? Does this anyway come from you wanting to be a human again?" He wasn't sure if what he had said was correct, but he knew how much scientist were still trying to create beings of their own much like what God can do as a way to potentially fuel their hopes of being deemed a god.

"No motive exactly," Marik said with a smile while waving his arm before him to detest. "Was just curios. Although, since your heading to North Blue I'd think to believe you are attempting to visit the Ninety-first fleet since that is the only one situated in the north. If so, then you'd be please to know you might be able to get a spot in its ranks since I heard they are actually looking for a scientist presently. Not sure what kind of scientist, but I think you'd fit into the fleet perfectly."

He figure he wouldn't give away his affiliation with the fleet immediately as he wanted to see how the cyborg doctor would respond. Although he hoped his last comment wouldn't come as a offense. But it was true since the ninety first fleet was quite the rash fleet. Victor so far seemed like he would fit nicely. Marik himself sometimes pondered why he was affiliated with the fleet. True he was very much into domination when need be, and in fact could be considered a demon when that time came. But that was only when need be, and that was rare. Still, he remained apart of the fleet for his own personal reasons.

Victor was a good listener as well when he felt like it and at the moment he did want to pay attention, so when Marik began to talk the cyborg was not tuning him out in the slightest and was able to catch the man's responses to his comments. When he talked about Victor wishing to make organic subjects as powerful as cyborgs without mechanical parts, the doctor was about to correct him on a few issues as while the comment was fairly close to what he planned it wasn't quite right. But when he heard Marik imply that Victor wished to become human again though....well the Doctor just stared and stared at the Rear Admiral for a good minute....then he actually started to laugh moderately.

"Kishkishkishkishkishkishkishkishhhh....wishing to be human again....that is rather humorous. Seems I gave off the wrong impression it seems...........but firstly. My plan is to more perfectly combine organics with cybernetics......for each have an advantage another does not. Just imagine if you will a cyborg that looks exactly like a human due to all the cybernetics being hidden perfectly under the flesh, yet the cyborg is able to do just as much damage as the more mechanical types yet have one advantage. Using an chemical, that I am currently still working out quite a few issues with, their flesh is made far stronger than any organic and able to take considerable abuse. But better still the fact that unlike traditional armor.....theirs can heal and regenerate. Ah the possibilities of covert super powerful weapons of destruction with self repair capabilities, with just a few of those hidden in major cities we could help stem the tide of fresh pirates coming to the ocean and exaggerating the problem." after saying that Victor stood up and began to walk around in thought as he tends to do when talking about this.

He moved over to the small fridge that was near Marik as he did this and grabbed a drink to help refresh himself, opening the container and taking a few gulps of the fluid to wet his throat so to speak. He then stopped and continued "Furthermore if I can properly perfect my work and make it less costly than current cyberization...well lets just say we could finally give our rank and file grunts the boost they need to actually make them able to take down pirate crews without getting used as cannon fodder. I find it wasteful that they are cut down in waves by these small crews of highly skilled pirates....that and each marine a pirate takes down just helps increase his or her skill and level of danger. But regardless...the summery is that I know that combining genetics with cybernetics will be the real future.....for one or the other alone will run into a dead end eventually. Now then onto your comment about me wishing to be human again....that is incorrect as I am quite fine with being a cyborg. I just did not enjoy how it came to be....I wished to have lived as an organic till I reached the age of thirty five not twenty five. I also did not approve of what parts I had installed with.....such as that core you saw. It runs on highly dangerous chemicals instead of bio and artificial electrical energy...which makes my job a bit more difficult even if the core takes considerably longer to run out of power...The only thing I wish to do in regards to the event is get my hands around my former collage Giacomo's little throat at some point. Insane little wrench did this to me then fled from the Marines and is in hiding now doing who knows what....."

Victor's temper was being shown as the container in his left hand was being slowly crushed involuntarily, but just before the thing could crumple or shatter and make a mess he forced his temper down though the rage bubbled below the surface. He let out a hissing sigh that sounded akin to deflating tires before putting the drink down, he lifted his right and up and rubbed the bridge of his nose in annoyance at himself for letting his temper flare up like that. It was then that he remembered that Marik did bring up something about the Ninety-First Fleet, he had to check his short term memory to find it but soon enough remembered. He then said "Yes I am going North to check on that fleet and become part of it, I am pleased to hear that they might be looking for one such as myself. I rather not travel there only to have to leave to another blue in search of a Fleet...Now then since you asked me so many questions...I believe I have earned the right to learn one thing. Why exactly are you going to the North Blue Marik?"

The deeply in forced glare the cyborg had given Marik was returned with just as much intensity by Marik, except his smile was still don at his face. He seemed to had struck a nerve when he mention the man wanting to be a human again. From the look he received he knew for sure at least, even without him voicing so before hand, he had speculate that he didn't want to be a full human again. Why he didn't was beyond him. But he could understand he would want to be one though since being a cyborg he had many superhuman quantities, something anyone would desire.

His laughter followed first before he spoke, and Marik speculation earlier was correct. His words made sense to him and was a reasonable dream to set for himself; he seemed slightly likely a dreamer, but he didn't put it pass the cyborg's scientific capabilities. At least he was doing it not for only himself since he mentioned it being to reduce pirating.

Marik kept quiet as he felt as more of a listener presently when the man moved to his fridge. He continued mentioning amount his views on the era long marine versus pirate battle. A battle that he, much like Marik, found had gone on for far too long and needed to stop. Still, his way was a little one sided since he wanted marines to completely obliterate pirates. Meanwhile, Marik himself believed that both marines and pirates were hypocrites in their own rights. Marines wanted to restrict freedom of pirate to attain completely and utter freedom for them and only themselves, while pirates wanted to attain freedom by taking it not taking into regard others freedom. Hypocrites they both were.

Marik despite his belief was too tired to get involved in a debate, so he kept those thoughts to himself as he listened. "I see. I admire your hopes," he lied. Giacomo? Marik thought to himself seeing if the name could ring any bells; it didn't though. "I hope you get that revenge you wish to. Word of advice, when you do try to do it in secrecy. Wouldn't want the marines hunting you down for murder now would you." He laughed lightly as he turned his head slightly to where the cyborg was crushing the can out of obvious rage.

Putting the next pressing matter onto the table, Victor confirmed Marik's theory of him going to the ninety-first fleet for possible recruitment. That only made Marik smirk a little in response. "I believe your right," he started as he began twirling his hair with his index finger playfully. "It's quite funny how I run across so many circumstances and irony I run into on a daily basis. I think you'd be pretty please to know that I'm also making my way to the ninety-first fleet for some business; something about some crime lords. Since your heading there you would probably have to get involve in it." He figure he wouldn't initially admit to being a rear admiral of the fleet since he wanted to see what the his reaction would be before hand.

Victor could tell that his host was not being too truthful about his so called admiration of the Doctor's plan, but then again Victor didn't give the full story himself so who was he to judge though in his defense....not many would like the idea of a world where all are made cybernetic. He then heard of the revenge advice and shrugged sightly before saying "To be honest the man is wanted, the higher ups were a bit miffed at him for breaking protocol when he changed me into a cyborg against my will. Add be it that might of been due to how the tech he used was untested and could of killed me, which would of weakened the biological work that I was part of. But he also stole technology as he made his escape.....once I find him he is to be killed or brought in alive. As long as he is taken care of...anyway would you wish to let a rogue scientist with stolen technology running free?"

Victor this time was not so easily worked up and did not let his anger get out this time, and so was able to hear what Marik said to him clearly when the Rear Admiral went on about circumstances and so forth. Rather boring to listen to honestly but after Marik got to the point and brought up the crime lord topic, well the Doctor would grin a bit though the act was hidden by his lab coat none the less. He then said "Ah these turbulent times do have one advantage it seems........so so easy to find new test subjects and rather resilient ones too. So crime lords you say...I wouldn't be too opposed to taking care of a few if I am free to gather sample for my work. Always looking for fresh meat to do improvements upon.....better than simply letting them be executed and having their bodies go to waste. Hmmm though I'll need to brush up on a few things, rather not end up shot in the shoulder ag-..........Oh right I should of mentioned this sooner I suppose."

Victor shook his head at himself for forgetting this as he should of said this to Marik before hand, he soon said "Before coming to Lougetown, I had arrived at one of the larger Commi Islands and met with Lieutenant Sharkk Sky-Breaker. After a brief slightly less than friendly conversation with the man I turned my back upon him to move my supplies out of the way just in case, the man soon without warning opened fire upon me with no real provocation. I believe he has been planning to go rouge and even if not, I am quite sure firing upon a marine for no reason what so ever is an crime. I figured that you might wish to know about this just to help inform marine command about the issue, best to quickly prevent future marine personnel from getting blind sided by the temperamental brute." Victor didn't really care about it since it wasn't that uncommon for Marines to loose it and go all violent on people, it was just time for him to make sure to inform others about the new threat.

The doctor's mention of all the things his creator had done him wrong with made Marik a little interested to listen. Hearing his plot for revenge. Hearing his life story. All of it. He only struck more and more interest from Marik the more he spoke. A wise man was always the most transparent was the words of some wise man. Whoever this man was though, Marik would take great interest in seeing him before Victor had the chance to kill him. No reason in peculiar other than simply seeing a new face.

"I guess you're right. You'd be quite lucky though if the vice-admiral allow you to take the corpse so easy," he said. "You should try to get the debrief on them once we get there." Same could be said about Marik since he still had no idea who, or even what these crime lords were capable of. Still he slightly didn't want to know as he enjoyed the feeling of suspense and surprise when a situation arise.

"Frankly, don't take this the wrong way, but I believe a person is entitled to their freedom. I am not person to restrict that freedom, be it that person is a fight class criminal or not. A little one sided coming from me since I'm a marine, I know. But I didn't exactly join the marine to kill and capture pirates, I joined for some more ulterior motives. But both of that information should be interesting for later reference either way, so thanks, and I'm glad your still find."

He figure he'd leave some mystery on the man's brain with his mention of ulterior motives. It was up to the man to take it as a threaten or good, but either way he watched on with his usual smile to see his facial expression to the statement. Either way, he let his words hang as he moved on.

"I'd think to belief you are well informed of the ninety-first's codes, rules and all that other stuff right?" he asked with a slight pout. "If not, you should try to. Quite the strict fleet. Probably the most strick of them all, give or take. I sometimes wonder how I make it through."
